    Age 88, died suddenly at her home at 5:30 p.m. Friday. She was born June 29, 1889 in the Town of Center and had lived in Appleton since the age of 15. Mrs. Horn was a member of the Golden Agers and was an active member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Wilma) Christen, Appleton; two brothers John and Alvin, both of Appleton; three sisters: Mrs. George (Martha) Schabo and Mrs. George (Olga) Wolfgram, both of Appleton; Mrs. Paul (Ella) Kamke, New London; seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years ago and a daughter Mrs. Howard (Alice) Arent on February 26, 1977 and also by a sister Bertha, and a brother William. The complete funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethany Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard K Pankow officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 3to 9 p.m. Sunday, and after 12 noon Monday at the church until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established for Mt. Olive Lutheran Church.

    William F. Ahrens "Rt. 2, Black Creek Age 75, died at 2 p.m. unexpectedly Wednesday. He was born June 27, 1900 in the Town of Center and had lived in Appleton most of his life where he was employed with the Borden Milk Company until his retirement twelve years ago. He had resided at his daughter's farm in Black Creek for the past ten years. Mr. Ahrens was a member of the First Congregational Church. The survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Marjorie) Volkman of Black Creek, and Mrs. William (Carol) Brew, of Loretto, Michigan; two sons, Reginold of Kimberly and Ralph of Woodbridge, Va.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Mary Lee Kienart of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, John and Al both of Appleton; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Horn of Appleton, Mrs. Martha Schabo of the Town of Center, Mrs. Ella Kamke of New London, Mrs. Olga Wolfgram of Appleton; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Bertha Matakovic. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Wichmann Funeral Home with Dr. John Edward Felible officiating. Interment will -be, in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 until 9 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m. Friday morning until the hour of service.

    Age 88, died Thursday morning May 27, 1999. She was born July 9, 1910 to the late Joseph and Marie (Levezow) Ahrens in the Town of Center and had been an area resident all her life. Olga had been employed by Appleton Papers before her marriage to George O. WOLFGRAM ON FEBRUARY 12, 1934 and following her marriage, she was employed as a waitress with Marcell's and Jake Skalls. She was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Survivors include three children: Nancy and Earl Miller, Appleton; James and Patricia Wolfgram, Menasha; Bommie and John Bucher, Richfield, MN; nine grandchildren five great-grandchildren, a sister Ella Kamke, New London. She was preceded in death by her husband George O.Wolfgram on March 15, 1995; a granddaughter, Jennifer Noack; five brothers and five sisters.

    Gilbert R. Ahrens Appleton Age 91, died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at Outagamie County Health Center after a lengthy illness. Gilbert was born on December 19, 1909 in Appleton, to the late John and Frances (Schwab) Ahrens. He is a lifelong resident of the Fox River Valley area. On June 26, 1937, Gilbert married Clarice Schmidt at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menasha. The couple has enjoyed 64 years together. Gilbert loved hunting and fishing at his cottage near the Crivitz area.
    Survivors include his wife Clarice, of Appleton; five daughters: Frances (Lloyd) Bruss, of Neenah, Barbara (Richard) Gunther, of Menasha, Betty Suess, of Winchester, Mary Liebhauser, of Oshkosh, and Kathryn (William) Tuchscherer, of Neenah, and 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and further survived by his Aunt Ella Kamke, of New London.
    Preceded in death by a son, Robert; his parents; two brothers, Bill and Hank Ahrens, two sisters, Evelyn Ahrens and Irene Ahrens, and son-in-law, Gerald Suess.
    Friends may call at the Brettschneider Trettin Lederer Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 6, from 4pm until the time of service. Funeral services are at 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral chapel with Deacon Peter Reinl officiating. Entombment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Outagamie County Health Center.

    Henry L. Ahrens "Hank" River Lane, Mountain Age 77, died April 27, 1996 at the Gillett Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 8, 1918 in Center Valley to the late John and Francis (Schwab *incorrect: Schabo) Ahrens. Hank married Martina Peterman on June 29, 1947. The Ahrens lived and worked in Appleton until retiring and moving to Mountain in 1981. Hank enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a lifetime charter member of the VFW, currently belonging to the Lakewood VFW. Henry served his country during World War II in the Army and later enlisted in the Air Force from 1948 until 1951. Survivors include his wife, Martina; one daughter and one son; two brothers, Bill Ahrens of Appleton and Gilbert Ahrens of Menasha, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Irene and Evelyn Ahrens. Friends may call at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home i Suring on Tuesday, April 30, 1996 from 4 p.m. until the fueral ceramony at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Lakewood VFW chaplin officiating. Burial will be in Slab City Cemetery, Bonduel.

    Wilma Marie Horn Christen, age 97, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2011. She was born on July 4, 1914 to William and Emma (Ahrens) Horn in Appleton. Wilma retired from Zwicker Knitting Mills in 1985. She was a life-long member of Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church. Wilma was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who loved to sew, knit, crochet and garden.
    She is survived by her four children: Donna Albrecht of Appleton; Sandy (Howard) Kamkes of Saxville; Robert (Jan Watson) Christen of Chicago and Paulette (Paul) Thompson of Cheverly, Maryland; eleven grand-children, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and a special nephew, Bill Christen, and special friend Bette. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Clarence "Shorty" Christen; a sister, Alice (Howard) Arent; a son-in-law, Charles Albrecht and a great-grandchild, Angela Jean Albrecht.
    The funeral service for Wilma will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church, 930 E. Florida Avenue, Appleton. Rev. Robert Raasch will be officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church Building Fund or ThedaCare at Home Hospice are appreciated.

    Appleton - DonnaMae A. Albrecht, age 83, of Appleton, passed away surrounded by her family at her home on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She was born in Appleton on January 28, 1935 daughter to the late Clarence A. and Wilma M. (Horn) Christen.
    DonnaMae graduated from Appleton High School - West in 1953. She continued her education in Minneapolis and subsequently found work in Chicago. She relocated to Appleton and married Charles G. Albrecht on June 4, 1955. Together they were blessed with five children.
    She was first employed with Lawrence University and then as a sales clerk for J.C. Penny for twenty-eight years retiring in 1998.
    She enjoyed solving word searches and crossword puzzles; she also was a collector of Santa Claus figurines and displayed them year round making it Christmas all year. In her younger years DonnaMae and her husband, Charles, loved to dance. She always looked forward to lunches with friends and the First Friday of the Month Breakfast Club. Above all she cherished time with her family, especially making memories with family at the cottage.
    She is survived by her five loving children, Charles (JoEllen) Albrecht of Appleton, David (Linda) Albrecht of Appleton, Debra Albrecht of Appleton, Daniel Albrecht of Appleton and Glenn Albrecht of Appleton; three grandchildren, Amy (Anthony) Bruns, Jennifer Albrecht and Allen (Amber) Albrecht; six great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Morgan, Cody, Jackson, Harper and Addison; two sisters, Sandra (Howard) Kamkes and Paulette (Paul) Thompson and sister-in-law, Jan Watson. She is further survived by her dear friend, Jean and many other dear family members.
    In addition to her parents, DonnaMae was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in February of 2000; her brother, Robert, and her granddaughter, Angie.
    The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton. Visitation will be held on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton at a later date. Don was employed at Foreway Express for 32 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed his trips to the cottage on Roberts Lake; trips to Wendover, Nevada, and visits to Mr. G's every Friday night. He was an avid deer hunter, loved to clean the house and especially scrub the (garage) floors - no one could clean like him; watching the stock market (on his iPad); leaning on the counter; and his daily route to check on family members. Each morning, Don had his morning coffee at George Webb.
    Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sue; his children, Scott Arent (special friend, Jill), Steve (Wendy) Arent, Tim Arent (special friend, Erica), Rick (Lisa) Arent, Kari (Joe) Mor, and Mike (Tammy) Greunke; his grandchildren, Tiffany (Andy) Huck, Jessica (fiancé Nate) Mor, Sara (Aaron) Klug, Alexa Arent (special friend, Travis), Kevan Greunke, Jorden Arent (special friend, Tyler), Kyra Greunke (special friend, Konner), Zach, Emma and Paige Arent; his great grandchildren, Camden Huck and Harper Klug; his brother, Dick (Mary) Arent, and his sister, Sharon (Paul) Schmidt; his in-laws, Sandra (Cameron) McCain and Don Douglas. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and great friends, plus his companion and buddy, Skippy. Don was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister-in-law, Dena Douglas.
    Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015, at MOUNT OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 E. Florida Avenue, Appleton, with Rev. Jasper Sellnow officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. A memorial has been established in his name.     Scheibe, Russell V. Our Heavenly Father answered our prayers that Russ would not suffer long with the renal cancer that was invading his body. On the evening of November 25, 2009, with his loving family by his side, Russ left this world to be with his Savior.
    Russ Scheibe, 61, was born on August 14, 1948, to Gerhardt and Doris (Schabo) Scheibe, of Appleton. Russ was a 1966 graduate of Hortonville High School. He was drafted by the Army in 1968 to serve in Vietnam. Upon honorable discharge, he went back to his passion of driving the "Big Rigs." For the last 23 years he worked for Appleton Coated. Russ was a member of the American Legion Post 0041 in Kaukauna, enjoyed NASCAR, collecting classic cars, and spending time with his family.
    In August 1973, Russ married Elaine (Ulmer) and enjoyed 36 years of togetherness.
    Russell is survived by his parents, loving wife, sons: Adam (Kelly), Greenville; Ryan (friend Jackie), Forest Junction; Lucas (Erika), Appleton; daughter, Rachael, Appleton; grandsons Hunter and Dylan; sister, Sherri (friend Jerry), in-laws: Ray (Fran) Ulmer, Barb Ulmer, Fred (Sandie) Ulmer, Bev (Gordy) Baumgart, Darlene (Mark) Griesbach and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
    He was preceded in death by his grandparents; George and Martha Schabo, Arthur and Ida Scheibe, in-laws, Albert and Ruth Ulmer, brother in-law Larry Ulmer and niece Shelly Rutten.
    Services for Russell will be held at Valley Funeral Home on Thursday, December 3, 2009. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. Rev. Micah Martin will be officiating. A private burial will take place.
    The family wishes to extend a special Thank you to the Fox Valley Hematology/Oncology departments, the surgeons from Valley Urology Assoc., Cheryl, Crystal, Rachael and Gina from Affinity Visiting Nurses, to family and friends for prayers, calls and cards received in the past weeks, and a special thanks to Pastor Martin.
    It's nice to know you have friends that care. Remember to make the most of everyday; otherwise life passes you by so fast. Thank you all, because it does mean so much-Russ.
    Due to severe family allergies, please, in lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.

    Appleton - Daniel J. Albrecht, 51, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 25, 1966, in Appleton, the son of Charles and DonnaMae (Christen) Albrecht. Dan enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, watching movies and the Green Bay Packers, martial arts, and listening to music. He loved his work in the kitchen at Touchmark Assisted Living facility. Daniel faced many challenges throughout his life but he fought through them all without a complaint.
    Daniel is survived by his 4 siblings: Charles (Jo Ellen) Albrecht, David (Linda) Albrecht, Debra Albrecht, and Glenn Albrecht; nieces and nephew: Amy (Anthony) Bruns, Jennifer Albrecht, and Allen (Amber) Albrecht; numerous cousins, and other close relatives.
    Daniel was preceded in death by his parents.
    Funeral services will be at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, April 25, 2017, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, with Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. Inurnment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established.
    Daniel's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of ThedaCare Medical Center, Appleton, and the staff of ThedaCare Cancer Center, Appleton for their wonderful care and compassion.
