Obituary:
Menasha - Becky Casperson, 58, passed away at home after a 2 year battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born on May 6, 1959, in Neenah, the daughter of Joseph and Leah (Clough) Sokel. Becky was married in 1991 to Tom Johnson, and he preceded her in death in 2004. She then married Carl M. Casperson on May 31, 2006. Becky loved the outdoors, deer hunting, gardening, and going up north. She also enjoyed cooking, playing cribbage, dominating slot machines, doing crossword puzzles, and working on home improvement projects. Above all, her greatest passion was her family. Nothing brought Becky more joy than the time she spent with her family and friends.
Becky is survived by her husband, Carl; son: Jeremy (Natalie) Canfield; grandson: Winston; 7 siblings: Jeanne (Dan) Talbot, Deanne (George) Paveletzke, Elizabeth (Dale) Jost, Jo (Terry) Beschta, Kelly (special friend Robin) Sokel; Kathy (special friend Bob) Lowe, and John (special friend Jen) Sokel; 3 step-children: Stacy (John) Ruhl, Scott (Patty) Johnson, and Carl (Sarah) Casperson; special niece: Heather Akstulewicz; special friends: Barb (Mike) Annis and Kathy (Scott) Strebe; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Marie "Freddie" (Mike) Akstulewicz; and a brother-in-law: Larry Lowe.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at the Washington Park Pavilion, 631 Winneconne Ave., Neenah, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund will be established for Becky's grandson, Winston.
Becky's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at ThedaCare Hospital, Neenah, Froedtert Hospital, ManorCare, Appleton, and Heartland Hospice; especially nurse Kelly for her compassion and care. Also, a very special thank you to those who attended the benefit held for Becky.
