    Hughes, Delores A.Delores Hughes, (Dee Voigt), Appleton, age 56, died at her home on East er Sunday, April 11, 2004, following a courageous sixteen-year battle wi th cancer. Dee was born in Appleton on October 4, 1947, daughter of the la te Henry and Cyrilla “Shirley” (Thiel) Bechlem. She was a 1966 gradua te of the Chilton High School, and also served a three-year tour in the Un ited States Army. Upon her discharge from the Army, Dee returned to Applet on and began work as a respiratory therapist at St. Elizabeth Hospital, a nd remained there for thirty years. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, cari ng for her lawn, her garden, and her pets, and was also an avid golfer. F or many years, she enjoyed the company of her lifelong friends Rose Ann, G udrun, JoAnn, Peggy, Sandi, and Sue.Survivors include three sisters: Barbara (Larry) Van Dyke of Appleton a nd their children Christopher and Melissa Van Dyke; Suzanne (George) Schro eder of Menasha and their children Nicole, Stephanie, and Adam Schroede r; Carol (Wayne) Olson of Chilton and their children Stacey (Jeff) Buech el and Shawn (Christine) Olson; a brother: James Bechlem of Chilton; two g rand-nephews: Dylan Buechel and Alex Olson; and a grand-niece: McKayla Ols on.Funeral services for Delores will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, April 1 4, 2004 at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2220 E. College Avenue in Applet on with Rev. Larry Steckling officiating. Inurnment will be in Highland Me morial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 9 a .m. until the hour of the services. The members of the American Legion Wil liam Verhagen Post #60 of Kimberly will provide military memorial honors f ollowing the service.The family would like to extend their thanks to Rose Ann, and her family V anessa, Gilbert, Chelsey, and Leah for sharing their lives with her and be friending her over the years.
