Jack C. Peterson "Poppy" Appleton Age 68, went to heaven into the open arms of the Lord, and his daughter Ann, Tuesday, August 8, 2000, following a 16 month struggle with cancer. Jack was born March 28, 1932, son of Clarence and Hilda (Ebert) Peterson. He married Beverly R. McCrory on April 11, 1953, and they have enjoyed 47 years of marriage together. Jack has been a lifelong resident of Appleton, but spent some summer months with his wife Bev at their home in Kewaunee, Wisconsin, and some winter months in Port Isabel, Texas. His love for the outdoors was shared with his children and grandchildren. He had a passion for Lake Michigan fishing, hunting, feeding his wild birds, gardening and camping. Many wonderful Sunday afternoons were spent with his children sledding, ice-skating and flower picking. He was the best Daddy. Jack was a proud union plumber for more than 41 years, belonging to Local 485 of Plumbers and Steamfitters. His last employment was for R.J. Kampo Plumbing and Heating. He never really fully retired; working shutdowns and holidays to "catch up" with the guys. He was a National Guard Veteran of ten years, serving during the Korean conflict at Ft. McCoy, in the Red Arrow Division. Jack is survived by his wife, Beverly; his mother, Hilda, Tucson, Arizona; his daughter, Kathleen (Timothy) McDonald, Greenville; two sons: Mark Peterson, and James (Mary) Peterson, both of Appleton; a sister, Carol Schaumann, Tucson; four grandchildren, better known to them as "Poppy": Kelly and Kasey McDonald, Adam Peterson, and Nicole Peterson. Obituary:
Mark W. Peterson, age 48, fought an enormous battle to overcome throat cancer, but was overcome on February 6, 2005.
Mark was a child of the '70s and he claimed this to be the best decade of his life. He loved rock 'n' roll and the blues music of this era. He will always be remembered for his fun-loving personality and loyalty to his friends. He was very fond of the outdoors and he loved camping and spending time with his brother Jim and sister-in-law Mary at their cabin in Shawano. He was also an avid fisherman and spent many hours with his friend Dave Harp at the "secret lake" last summer catching lunkers.
Mark has always been an animal lover and had a fascination with wolves. He also enjoyed his good buddies, his mother's cats, Reilly and Clancy who he termed "the goofers."
He is survived by his mother, Beverly R. Peterson of Appleton; a sister Kathleen and her husband Timothy McDonald of Greenville; a brother James and his wife Mary Peterson of Appleton. He is also survived by the nieces he loved dearly, Nicole Peterson and Kelly and Kasey McDonald. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mark is preceded in death by his beloved father, Jack C. Peterson; his sister and best friend in the world, Ann J. Peterson; his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Hilda Peterson; and his maternal grandparents, Veronica and Carl Glander. He was also preceded in death by many friends including those he was closest to: Rick Penno, Joe McCarthy, and Robert Stelmach.
Services will be held at Mark's graveside at Appleton Highland Memorial Park at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2005, with Father Gerald Falk officiating.
A special thanks to Dr. Guenther, the staff and volunteers at Cherry Meadows Hospice Center, and Chuck Collar, a good friend, for all their support in Mark's physical and emotional well being during this time in Mark's life when he and his family needed strength.
"If you believe in forever, then life is just a one night stand. If there's a rock 'n' roll Heaven, they've got to have a Helluva band!"
    Enjoy bud! We Love You,
    Ma, Pappy, and the Jimmer
