    Obituary:
    Wilmer "Willie" V. Fickel, age 84, of Little Chute, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Saturday afternoon, July 25, 2015.
    Willie Fickel was born in Appleton, WI, on April 9, 1931, the son of the late Ervin J. and Rose A. Fickel. Willie married his beloved wife Barbara "Bobbie" A. Surprise on January 8, 1952, before entering into the Army on January 11, 1952, where he was stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC. He served in the Korean Conflict from 1952-1953 as a PVT E-2 - Corporal until he was wounded and honorably discharged on October 10, 1953, at Camp Carson, CO, receiving a Purple Heart for his service. Upon returning home, Willie worked as a Team Leader with the Kimberly-Clark Corp. in Neenah for more than 40 years until he retired in December of 1990.
    Willie was a member of the Retirees Club Local 482 and the Quarter Century Club. He was an avid bowler and always looked forward to his afternoons bowling with the Sr. Bowling League and the Friendship League. He had a passion for playing sheepshead and never missed his regular card games with Hazel and the group. He was also a dedicated Packer and NASCAR fan. Willie loved spending time at his cottage in Shawano, WI, where he enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time with his family. Willie was proud of his family and loved them all dearly.
    Willie is survived by a very special and loving friend Hazel Vosters; two sons: Michael C. of Appleton and Craig A. (Julie) of Neenah; five grandchildren: Brittney (finance' Mark), Tanner, Jordan, Justin, and Alex; one sister: Marion Johnson of Greenville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Barbara "Bobbie"; one brother-in-law Tom Johnson.
    A Mass of Christian burial for Willie will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton, WI, with Father William Van Dynhoven officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Willie will be laid to rest with his late wife, Bobbie, at Appleton Highland Memorial.
    We would like to thank and give special appreciation to Hazel Vosters, who lived with Willie for the past 21 years, loved him and took special care of him until he passed away. We all love you. We would also like to thank the ThedaCare Hospice staff for the wonderful care giving Willie received. Dad/Grandpa, we love you and will miss you dearly.
