    Meier, John R.John R. Meier, 82, W322 Weber Rd in Chilton, died on Saturday, March 4, 20 06, at his home. He was born Nov. 24, 1923, in the Town of Calumet s on of the late Joseph and Clara (Casper) Meier. John married Carol Hamm er on May 9, 1959, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton. He graduat ed from Marytown grade school and received his diploma from the United Sta tes Army in Fort Bliss, Texas and later graduated from the Farm Short Cour se in Madison. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown a nd played professional baseball for four years with the House of David bas eball team. John enjoyed driving tractor around the farm, fishing, and stu rgeon spearing.Survivors include his wife, Carol; two sons, Gary Meier, Appleton; Glen Me ier, Chilton; and a sister, Terri (Donnie) Schaefer, Chilton.John was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Elmer, Rober t, and Al Meier.Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2006, at St. Mary 's Catholic Church in Marytown with the Rev. Joe Coerber officiating. Buri al will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church 11 a .m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday March 9, 2006 when services will be held.     Michael J. Schaefer, age 60, of Chilton, died on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born August 16, 1950 in Fond du Lac, son of Donald & Theresa (Meier) Schaefer. He married Jane M. Hauser on June 30, 1979 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton. Michael loved his job and was a dedicated employee of the Hillman Fasteners National Accounts Division; a position that afforded Mike the opportunity to travel from place to place and talk a little 'Bull' with each client.
    He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly St. Mary Parish, where he also had served on the Church Council and as an Usher. As an alumnus of St. Mary Catholic School, Mike continued his commitment of a solid Christian Education for his children by serving on the Chilton Catholic Home & School Board. He was an avid Milwaukee Brewer, Wisconsin Badger, and Green Bay Packer fan. Michael enjoyed golfing and had played in the Thursday Night Men's League at Hickory Hills, and was a former member of the Chilton Lions Club.
    Mike was a charismatic individual who's unique, powerful laugh and quick one liners brought a lot of color to any conversation. He was a motivated, caring person who was always putting others ahead of himself. Above all else, Mike loved his family and was extremely proud of his children. He watched them grow into strong, caring adults pursuing all of their dreams and accomplishing much in their lives; they are living testaments of his guiding, fatherly hand.
    Survivors include his wife: Jane; his parents: Donald & Theresa; his mother-in-law: Marie Hauser; 3 children: Kyle Schaefer of Milwaukee, Katie (Matthew) Phillip of Appleton, Kristin (Matthew) Bruckner of Belgium; 2 grandchildren who were Michael's treasured gifts from God: Cora Phillip and Opal Bruckner; 5 brothers and sisters: David (Miriam) Schaefer, Joan (Don) Rowan, Mary (Mark) Ortmayer, Dan (Linda) Schaefer, Lois Schaefer; 2 brothers-in-law: Glen Beiser, John (Wendy) Hauser; and a sister-in-law: Julie (Ed) Berg. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
    Michael was preceded in death by his father-in-law: Harold Hauser; a sister: Patricia Beiser; a nephew: Chad Schaefer; and his beloved golden retriever, "Millie".
    Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, July 15, 2011 and on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM when family prayers will be held. A Parish Vigil Service will take place Friday evening at the funeral home at 8:00 PM.
