    Clyde and Betty were married in the Panama Canal Zone in June of 1919 ( Be atty had gone to help her sister (Attaway) care for her 3 childre. (Aunt A ttie's husband, Ralph, was an Engineer on the Canal Zone.) Betty met Cly de while horse back riding from the same stables where Gene kept his gor se years later when stationed in the Canal Zone with the USN (in the lat es 1950's) Clyde was in the US Army (a Sergeant Maor) at the time.Clyde was called "Duck" aby his friends as he was a wonderful swimme r. He was very sports minded - loved the outdoors - hunted, fished, rac ed speed boats, played basketball as a young man. Worked most of his li ve for the US Govt - Farmer's Home Administration.

    Clyde married Tayloe, Betty Washington Lewis Abt Jun 1919, Panama Canal Zone. Betty was born 17 Nov 1897, , King George County, Virginia; died 29 Aug 1985, Montgomery, Montgomery, Alabama, USA. [Group Sheet]
