    From Lynn Williams; 5/26/1893: Edward Jansen and Nellie (Peternela) Vers tegen married in Little Chute last week:Little Chute Century of Progress, 1899-1999, pg 374: Known as Nellie. N ot much is known about this daughter. She married Edward (Johnson) Jans en in Little Chute in May, 1893, farmed in Deer Creek township near Shioct on and had five children. Nellie apparently died during childbirth, but s he is not buried in Little Chute.
    History of Outagamie Co., 1912, pgs. 803-805: Petronella is married to Ed ward Jannson, a prominent and prosperous farmer of Buchanan Livi ng in Deer Creek Township, five children.
    Nellie, born about 1873, daughter of Arnoldus Johannes Verstegen, born De cember 23, 1820 in Zeeland, Noord Brabant, died October 31, 1900. Mothe r: Katherina Vander Aa, born about 1840 in Holland, died 1912.

I have news paper publication from the Post Crese nt 3/01/1995 "The letters of Arnold Verstegen " which chronicles the li fe of Arnold and his family. It has letters written in the 1850s. I belei ve the newspaper is from Apppleton or Kaukauna not sure. I'm not goi ng to go on and on but would love to pick your brain. I'm originally fr om DePere and will be coming to town 4/20 thru 4/27. Plan on working on m ore family tree infor. Will be going to Appleton Court house to try and f ind more info.     Obituary:
    John "Johnny" F. Rohde, age 53, of Seymour passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at home with his brothers by his side following a 41 year battle with diabetes. He was born May 3, 1959 to the late Fred and Marcella (Oskey) Rohde.
    He graduated from Seymour High School in 1977 and began working at the Seymour toy factory until being forced to retire due to disability.
    Following the death of his father in 1983 Johnny dedicated himself to taking care of his mother and the house until her death in 2007, all the while fighting the courageous battle with diabetes. Prior to losing his ability to walk, Johnny was very physically active, working out and taking his daily four mile walks.
    Johnny loved listening to music, fishing with his good friend J.D., and working outside. He was a car enthusiast and was a member of the "Stray Dawgs" Car Club with his brother Randy holding the position of V.P. NO FEAR. Johnny was known to his hotrod pals as "'69RIV".
    He is survived by two brothers: Steve, Little Chute; and Randy "RANROD/HOTROD", Seymour; uncle Erv (Liz) Oskey, Mill Center; aunt Jean (Tom) O'Keefe, DePere; and several cousins and friends.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt Ellie (Elmer "Babe") Seidl, and aunt Ellie (Harry) Blohm.
    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 4 pm until services at 7 pm with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery, Seymour.

    Special thanks to Mary "1", Mary "2" and Kathy, all the staff at Heartland Hospice, the staff at Golden Living Center, and to Perry Pierre for the extra special care given to Johnny. With your help Johnny was granted his wish to be at home in his final days.
