    Margaret C. Steffens, age 88, of Kaukauna, passed away early Monday morning, December 22, 2008, at Appleton Health Care Center. Margaret was born on May 31, 1920 in Mauston, WI the daughter of William and Anna (Schuett) Gruetzmacher. On September 27, 1947, Margaret was united in marriage to William J. Steffens, Sr. at St. Margaret-Mary Catholic Church in Neenah and the couple lived in Kaukauna their entire married lives.
    Margaret was a longtime and faithful member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Kaukauna. She enjoyed spending the summer months at the trailer on Silver Lake near Wild Rose.
    Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law: Robert (Margaret) Steffens of Menasha, Bill Jr. (Joanne) Steffens of Neenah, Dennis (Julie) Steffens of Menasha, Dan (Laurie) Steffens of Wild Rose, and Brian (Kris) Steffens of Manitowoc; nine grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews; and her husbands relation: George (Gina) Steffens, Melvin (Beverly) Steffens, Nancy Steffens-Shimek, Michaeline Steffens, and Harold Fredrickson.
    Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband William, Sr., a total of 13 brothers and sisters; as well as numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
    The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2008, from St. Katherine Drexel Parish at St. Aloysius Site, 2401 Main Ave., Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors celebrating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Kaukauna. Friends may call at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna (920-766-2099) on Friday from 5-8 p.m. where there will be a parish prayer service held at 7:30 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Margaret's name.
