    Van Abel, Donald M., Hollandto wnAge 81, died peacefully Thursday, April 3, 2003 at Appleton Medical Cente r. Donald was born July 26, 1922 to the late William and Nell (Curtin) V an Abel in Hollandtown. On June 28, 1945 he married the former Bernice Hop fensperger and together they resided in Hollandtown their entire married l ives. On March 27, 1993, she preceded him in death. Don and Bernice, alo ng with Will and Duff, owned and operated Van Abel's Supper Club. His grea test enjoyment came from visiting with employees, customers and longtime f riends at the restaurant. Don was a member of St. Francis Catholic Churc h, Hollandtown where he sang in the Men's Choir, a member of the Fox Vall ey Golf Course, the Knights of Columbus and was a founding member of the H ollandtown Fire Dept.Survivors include four daughters and a son-in-law: Pat and Charlie Lindber g, Sherwood and his children, Sue Van Abel, Katie Coenen both of Hollandto wn and Joan Van Abel of Kaukauna; three grandchildren: Chris, Ann and L ee Coenen; special nephews and niece; Tim, Mike, John, Jerry, Pat and Ja ne (Marx), who worked by his side as they grew up; two sister-in-laws: Du ff Van Abel of Hollandtown and Julie and Marv Hooyman, Arizona; a sister a nd brother-in-law, Marianne and Ralph Griesbach of Sterling, Illinois. D on is further survived by his wife's family; Bea Hopfensperger, Kaukaun a, Bud Garvey, Freedom, Don and Ginger Stuyvenberg, Kimberly and Connie Ho pfensperger, Gillett. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephew s, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, B ernice; a son-in-law, Earl Coenen, three brothers and a sister-in-law: Wi ll Van Abel, Bob and Helen Van Abel, Jerry Van Abel; a sister and a brothe r-in-law, Nancy and Bud Grams.The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2003 at St. Fra ncis Catholic Church of Hollandtown with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. B urial will take place in the parish cemetery. Friends will be receiv ed at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukau na on Sunday, April 6, 2003 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and again on Mo nday at Church from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service. A parish prayer s ervice will conclude the evening Sunday at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a me morial is being established in his name.

    Lindberg, Patricia Ann "Pat" (nee Van Abel)
    Patricia Lindberg, 63, of Sherwood, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born on June 3, 1946, in Hollandtown, the daughter of the late Donald and Bernice (Hopfensperger) Van Abel. Pat married Charles Lindberg on January 4, 1988, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown. Pat was the co-owner of Van Abel's Supper Club and many will remember her at the family restaurant with her cheerful greeting and smile. Pat was the organist at St. Francis for 40 years. She loved spending many hours with the men's choir and was very proud of being a part of it. Pat was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood. She graduated from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc. Pat enjoyed crocheting and her hybrid rose garden.
    Patricia is survived by her husband: Charles Lindberg; children: Donald (Kathy) Lindberg; Dianne (Paul) Coonen, Charles (Kathy) Lindberg Jr.; David (Susan) Lindberg and Julie (Jeffrey) Baker; thirteen grandchildren; a great-granddaughter: Ella Rose; sisters: Sue and Joan Van Abel and Katie Coenen; nephews: Chris and Lee Coenen; niece and goddaughter: Anne (Pete) Golden and their children Catelyn and Marcus; special cousins: Tim (Nancy), Mike (Diane), John (Joanne) and Patrick (Kristie) Van Abel and Jane (Groucho) Marx.
    She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Earl Coenen, Will, Duff and Jerry Van Abel.
    The funeral liturgy for Patricia will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL - ST. FRANCIS SITE, Hollandtown. Father Ken Frozena will be officiating. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Pat's name.
    Many thanks to the staff at St. Paul Home, St. Elizabeth Hospital and Fresenius Dialysis Services of Kaukauna for the excellent care and compassion shown to Pat and our family.

    Sue Van Abel, age 68 of Hollandtown, passed away at her home on Friday morning, February 26, 2016. She was surrounded by those she loved. Sue was born on August 19, 1947, daughter of the late Donald and Bernice (Hopfensperger) Van Abel. She was a graduate of Kaukauna High School and the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Sue loved to travel in her younger days and there was no main road for her. Sue was also an integral part of carrying on the family business.
    She is survived by two sisters: Katie Coenen and Joan Van Abel; two nephews and a niece: Christopher (fiancée Sara Baciu) Coenen, Ann (Peter) Golden, and Lee Coenen; the bright lights of her life, a great-niece Catelyn Golden; a great-nephew Marcus Golden; a brother-in-law: Charlie Lindberg; and her cousins and partners: Tim (Nancy) Van Abel, Jane (Gary) Marx, Mike (Diane) Van Abel, John "Gus" (JoAnn) Van Abel, and Patrick (Kristie) Van Abel along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Pat Lindberg, a cousin Jerry Van Abel, a brother-in-law Earl Coenen, and her aunt and uncle, Will and Duff Van Abel.
    The family would like to thank Sue's doctors, great neighbors Floyd and Diane Kempen, Golden Touch Homecare, Vivian Domask, Debbie Laabs, and the incomparable Chris Neumeyer for their loving care and friendship. The family also would like to thank the staff of Van Abel's of Hollandtown for their care and support.
    A celebration of Sue's life will be held at Van Abel's of Hollandtown on Saturday, March 5, 2016, beginning at 3:00 PM. The St Francis Men's Choir will be performing at approxamately 5:30.
