Obituary:
Dolores J. Hurst, Kaukauna, age 86, died peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Parkside Care Center. She was born December 16, 1928 in Appleton, WI, daughter of the late Willis and Nanna (Johnson) Elsner. On October 16, 1954 Dolores married Harry L. Hurst, the couple lived in Kaukauna their entire married lives and enjoyed 60 years of marriage prior to his death on January 2, 2015. Dolores worked many years at Wisconsin Telephone as a phone operator. She retired and volunteered the rest of her life to the City of Kaukauna and her church. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Kaukauna.
She is survived by 2 sisters: Carmen Elsner, Little Chute and Denise Koepke, Abilene, TX; and a sister-in-law, Norma Elsner. She is further survived by her husband's family: Audrey (Gerald) Driessen, Little Chute, Jeanette (Tom) Vandehey, Kimberly and Elizabeth Hurst, Appleton; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; 1 sister, Lou Ellen Elsner; 1 brother, Willis Elsner Jr., and a brother-in-law, Leslie.
Funeral Services for Dolores will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at IMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH of CHRIST, 510 Sullivan Ave., Kaukauna with Rev. David Bolz officiating. Friends may call directly at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for 1000 Island Environmental Center or the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
