    Obituary:
    Farr, Sharon (Domke) (nee Schlack)
Sharon Patricia Farr, age 66, of the Town of Menasha, died on February 23, 2009, at her home, surrounded by loved ones, after fighting ovarian cancer for two years. Sharon and her twin sister, Karon, were born July 31st, 1942, in Green Bay, the daughters of the late Fred and Mary Ann (Vander Pas) Domke. Sharon was proud of the fact that she was the older sister of the twins by five minutes. Sharon was married to the late John W. Schlack, on September 5th, 1964. From that union their daughter, Karen P. Schlack, was born. A tragic automobile accident resulted in death of John in December, 1965. On March 25th, 1967, Sharon married Gene R. Farr. Two children were born to the couple, Kristine A. and Kenneth J. Farr.
Sharon spent her childhood in the Green Bay area, graduating from West De Pere High School in 1960. She was employed by the former Bergstrom Paper Company for 23 years. Most recently, she happily worked for Fox Valley Fittings and Controls for 13 years until her retirement. Sharon enjoyed spending time creating embroidery pieces amongst friends, relaxing "up north" in the Crooked Lake area, and playing bingo, especially when she won! She also enjoyed good rummage sales, where she found many of her treasures. Another joy in her life was her grandchildren, who will miss Granny slaving over a hot stove, trying to create the perfect recipe to enter in the local apple dessert contest every fall. Sharon was proud of the many beautiful embroidery pieces she created and entered into the state fair. The pieces and their ribbons are lasting treasures we shall have with us forever. She won several blue ribbons. Sharon was a member of the Fox Valley Embroidery Guild and an official participating in the, not so official, Stitch-n-Bitch Club. The friendships that she developed through these groups were very special to her. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, willingness to help others, and dedication to family and friends.
Sharon will be missed by all who knew her, especially her husband of 42 years, Gene; children: Karen Schlack (partner Darin Hawkins), Kris (Tim) Olsen and their children, Benjamin and Samuel, Ken (Jodi) Farr and their children, Alyssa Jo Pagel, Daniel Ziegler, Mandy (Chris) Volkman, Matthew (Danielle) Ziegler; sisters, Karon Domke, Sue (Rich) West, brothers; Dan Domke (partner Shelly), Keith (Pam) Domke, Jeff (Bonnie) Domke, special family friend, Marilyn Ludwig, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, John, a sister, Janice, two brothers: James and Allen, and her granddaughter, Grace Emily.
Sharon requested that each family give ONE flower to be put into a vase, if they wish to do so, in lieu of floral gifts. Sharon's wish was to establish a memorial fund to be used for further ovarian cancer research. Sharon and her family would like to thank the Thedacare Hospice Group for the care and support provided during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at WICHMANN TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 S. Oneida Street, Menasha, with Pastor Daniel Thews officiating. Friends may call at the Tri-County Chapel on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute.
