    Ruth T. "Tootie" Wierschke (Mrs. Gordon) Age 82, passed away peacefully as she slept, early Monday morning, Apr il 2, 2001, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. She was born October 1 5, 1918, in Wrightstown, daughter of the late Theodore and Bardeen (V an De Hey) Coenen. On June 14, 1941, she married Gordon Wierschke. Ruth w as a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kaukauna, and the Altar Societ y. She was always active in church functions. She was employed at Kimberly -Clark for two years prior to joining Gordon in Florida, where he was stat ioned in the Army in 1941. She then went on to enjoy many years as a lovi ng and caring mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She busily created ma ny beautiful crocheted afghans, doilies, and bedspreads for her childre n, grandchildren, and friends. She was always there and enjoyed helping ev eryone. She loved baking goodies and sharing them with family and friend s. Tootie always had that special smile and twinkle in her eye for those w hose lives she touched. She always enjoyed gardening and time spent at t he cottage.
    Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Gale and John Kuhn, Seym our; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Melanie Wierschke, Kaukauna; five g randchildren, Troy Kuhn and fiancee Rebecca Bohrer, Grapevine, Texas; Heat her Kuhn, Green Bay; Tanya (Ryan) Danner, Naperville, Illinois; Kevin Wier schke, Kaukauna; Treena (Mike) Seidl, Kaukauna; two great-grandchildren, G riffin Kuhn and Morgan Seidl; a sister, Evelyn Meulmans, Wrightstown; t wo sisters-in-law, Clara Wierschke, Kaukauna; Marguerite Coenen, Wrightsto wn; and a special Godchild, Sandy Gehring. She was preceded in death by h er husband, Gordon, in 1989; five sisters, Martha Ehnerd, Minnie Despin s, Estelle Smith, Irene Geurts, Clara Berken Hendricks; sisters-in-law, Ch arlotte Coenen and Ceil Wierschke; three brothers, Harold, Fred, and Ea rl Coenen; brothers-in-law, Harold and Emmett Wierschke, Adrian Meulman s, Harold Ehnerd, Vernon Despins, Ralph Smith, Fred Geurts, and Leo Hendri cks.
    Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary's Cathol ic Church, Kaukauna, with Fr. Robert Udulutsch officiating. Burial in t he parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday directly at t he church until the time of service. Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukau na, is assisting the family with arrangements.
