Obituary:
Barbara M. Loomis Wendt, 40, Chittenango, formerly of Camden, N.Y., passed on Aug. 5, 2007, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC with her loving family around her. She was born Oct. 5, 1966, in Tripler Military Hospital, Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Richard G. and Sharon Riley Loomis. She graduated from Camden High School the Class of 1984 and earned her R.N. degree from MVCC. Barbara married Scott A. Wendt Aug. 19, 1994, in Green Bay, Wis. She loved her job as an open heart ICU nurse and was currently employed at University Hospital in Syracuse, after 15 years as an open heart ICU nurse at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, Wis. She was respected and liked by all the doctors and nurses she worked with. She was very proud of earning and retaining her C.C.R.N. designation. Barb was known and loved for her quick smile, easy laugh and great sense of humor, as well as for her caring and compassionate nature.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Wendt, Chittenango; their daughter, Samantha Wendt; parents, Richard and Sharon Loomis, Florence; three sisters, Brenda Loomis, Chittenango; Patricia Loomis and Nick Lisuzzo, Fairbanks, Alaska; Sara Loomis and Josh Spink, Camden; brother, Kevin and Krista Loomis, Florence; paternal grandmother, Frances Loomis, Westdale; maternal grandfather, James Riley, Green Bay, Wis.; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and special friends, Lisa, Kathy P. and Renee; as well as many other friends. She touched many lives through her life and her work and will be greatly missed.
Services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from St. John's Church, Camden. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. from the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main St., Camden, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Miracle House, 80 Eighth Ave., New York, NY 10011, or to a college fund for her daughter, Samantha, in care of the funeral home.
