    Janice L. Utke
    Janice L. Utke 67, Oshkosh died at Mercy Medical Center on Wednesday, October 4, 2006. She was born in Appleton, WI on June 30, 1939, a daughter of Henry and Alice Frank Verbruggen. Janice married Allen Utke on June 16, 1972 in Appleton.
    Janice was a very active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, having been the church photographer, appeared in many of the church plays, and skits, was instrumental in the church anniversary activities, and was a member of the Koinoia Club at church. Janice was a very loving, caring, outgoing and vibrant person. Her interests included poetry, traveling, gardening, and pets.
    Survivors include her husband, Allen Utke, Oshkosh; one son, David (April) Zebik, Hot Springs, AK; two daughters, Marcia (Tyrone) Teal, Oshkosh; and Connie (Larry) Vondracek, Neenah; four grandchildren, Eric Gradecki, Menasha; Samantha Teal, Oshkosh; Shawn Teal, Oshkosh, Arianna Zebik, Hot Springs, AK; one brother, Jerry Verbruggen, Appleton; one sister, Darlene Antoniou, New Orleans, LA; cousins, Pearl Reetz, Ruby Roff, Don Kelnhofer, Dick Kelnhofer, Carolyn Gonsalves, Willa Ramsey, Norman Knapp, Gary Frank, Bob Frank, and Jack Frank; two brothers-in-law, Norman Utke, Rock Island, IL; Gene (Vicki) Utke, Dexter, MI; a special friend, Gail Driessen; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, two sons, Eugene Zebik, and Scott Zebik.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Our Savior Lutheran Church (1860 Wisconsin St.- on the corner of Wisconsin St. and Stillwell Ave, one block west of the McDonalds Restaurant on Jackson St.) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Kemp Jones officiating. Family and friends may call at church on Saturday from 10:00 AM to the time of service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to the Frontal-Temporal Lobe Association has been established.

    Gerald Verbruggen died at his apartment in Appleton on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at the age of 56. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and pending.

    Gerald Henry "Jerry" Verbruggen, of Appleton, age 56, died peacefully, at Oneida Heights in Appleton, on Wednesday June 27, 2007, after several years of lingering health problems. He was born in Appleton on June 30, 1950, the son of Henry and Alice (Frank) Verbruggen. Jerry grew up and attended schools in Appleton. He was employed as a painter in the Fox Valley for much of his life, and also worked for several years at the Shawano Leader newspaper in Shawano, WI. Jerry was a "free spirit" who lived life from his own perspective and in his own way. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and greatly enjoyed playing cards, and socializing and traveling with relatives and friends.
    Survivors include one daughter, Alicia Verbruggen, Bonduel; two grandchildren, Ethan Klein and Kayden Verbruggen, Bonduel; a sister, Darlene Antoniou, New Orleans, LA; two nephews: David (April) Zebik, Hot Springs, AK; and Nicholas Antoniou, New Orleans, LA; two nieces, Connie (Larry) Vondracek, Neenah; and Marcia (Tyrone) Teal, Oshkosh; cousins: Pearl Reetz, Don Kelnhofer, Dick Kelnhofer, Carolyn Gonzales, Willa Ramsey, Norman Knapp, Gary Frank, Bob Frank, and Jack Frank; a brother-in-law, Allen Utke, Oshkosh; and other relatives and friends.
    Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Janice Utke; and two nephews, Gene Zebik and Scott Zebik.
    In accordance with his last wishes, Jerry will be cremated and no visitation or funeral rites will be held. A memorial fund will be established at a later date.
