Hoffman, Betty J.Betty J. Hoffman, 78, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 200 4, at Door County Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 8, 1925, in Sevasto pol, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Brauer) Mielke. On Fe b. 2, 1944, she married Earl Harold Hoffman at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic C hurch in Institute. After Earl and Betty had sold their interest in the Na tional Hotel, Bar and Restaurant, they bought and operated the Red Ro om in Sturgeon Bay for many years. Earl preceded her in death on July 1 2, 1978. Betty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed ca rd playing, gardening, and her dogs.Betty is survived by her daughter, Beverly Fink; son, Harlan “Harley’’ (Ka thy) Hoffman, both of Sturgeon Bay; grandchildren, Michael (Casey) Frangip ane, Sturgeon Bay; Steven Frangipane, Cape Canaveral, Fla.; Joseph Hoffma n, Sturgeon Bay; Jill Hoffman, Tampa, Fla.; and Nicholas Hoffman, Sturge on Bay; great-grandson, Tyler; brother, Otto (Evelyn) Mielke, Sturgeon Ba y; two sisters, Julia Dettman, Jeanette Anschutz, both of Sturgeon Bay; a nd sister-in-law, Ann Bellin of Casco.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Mary Werkhiese r, Helen Vertz, and Doris Wilz; and brothers, Joseph Mielke and Kenneth Mi elke.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 200 4, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Dominic Pelu se SCJ as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. F riends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at Huehns Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p. m. and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of servic es at 10:30 a.m. A parish wake service will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p .m. at Huehns Funeral Home.A memorial fund will be established in Betty Hoffman’s name for Crossroa ds at Big Creek.

Beverly A. Fink, 64, Sturgeon Bay, passed away early Thursday morning, Oct. 16, 2008, at Golden Living Center-Dorchester.
She was born July 10, 1944, in Sturgeon Bay, daughter of Earl and Betty (Miekle) Hoffman. Bev was a 1962 graduate of Sturgeon Bay High School. She married Paul Frangipane May 15, 1964, in Sturgeon Bay. In her early years, Bev had worked at Door County Memorial Hospital and waitressed at The Mill Supper Club.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Casie) Frangipane, Sturgeon Bay (and their children, Cole and Cora); Steve (friend, Sansee Bigger) Frangipane, Edgewater, Fla. (and his son, Tyler); one brother, Harley (Kathy) Hoffman; nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Reba.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dominic Peluse, SCJ as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at Huehns Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bev's memory for the Door County Humane Society.
