    Obituary:
    Ben Blaha, age 92, of Algoma, WI, passed away peacefully at Bethel Nursing Home in Oshkosh WI. He was loved by his family and will be dearly missed. He was born Feb. 12, 1915 to Joseph and Antonia (Novak) Blaha on the family farm in rural Algoma. He attended Silver Creek School and then worked on his sister Mary's farm. At the age of 26 he was drafted into the armed services and served his country as a corporal in the South Pacific, he was honorably discharged May 20, 1945. Ben enjoyed spending time with his family, automobiles, pier fishing, fishboils and playing sheepshead.
    He married Germaine Holub on Oct. 11, 1951 at St. Marys church in Algoma.
    He is survived by his wife Germaine, Children Elizabeth(Gerald) Peterson ; Fish Creek, Steven(Nancy Ausloos) Blaha; Oshkosh, Joan (Ron) Olson; Reno Nevada, Timothy (Kathy) Blaha; Houston Texas, grandchildren Matthew , Nicholas and Jill Peterson, Jennifer and Robert Blaha, Jessie and Michelle Tahlier, Ashley, Kimberly and Gregory Blaha, sister in law Anna Blaha, several nieces and nephews.
    He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Libby (Ed) Hohne, Mary(Hubert) Lauscher, Emilie(Elmer) Kostichka, Helen(Charles) Kostichka, brothers Joseph (Dora) Blaha, William Blaha, Edward (Mary) Blaha and John Blaha.
    Friends may call at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home, 1617 Flora Ave., Algoma on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Algoma. The VFW and Legion service will be Monday at 6 p.m. and wake service will be at 7 p.m. Funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Swichtenberg officiating. Burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
    The family would like to thank all caregivers for their exemplary care especially Oshkosh Aurora Hospice, Bethel Nursing Home, and Dr. Eric Duwell. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.
