    Obituary:
Edwin G. Wynveen, 89, of Oostburg, died peacefully, surrounded by his children on Thursday morning, May 3, 2007, at Sunny Ridge Health Care Center where he had resided for the past four years.
He was born on September 30, 1917, in Cedar Grove, the son of the late Benjamin and Johanna (Harmelink) Wynveen. Edwin attended Maple Grove School in Cedar Grove. On August 30, 1940, he married the late Henrietta Davies in the Town of Wilson. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2007. Ed retired as a Master Machinist from Kiekhaefer, Cedarburg, WI, in 1980, after 27 years of service. He continued working as a Landscape Architect for McKay Nursery, an occupation he did for over 54 years. Ed was largely self-taught, especially in the area of ornithology which enabled him to draw and paint songbirds, wildlife scenes, and landscapes. He completed the correspondence course from Art Institute, Minneapolis, MN, in 1965. Many residents in Oostburg and the surrounding area have his paintings in their homes. One of his favorite activities was teaching art at Oostburg Christian School, Sheboygan Christian High School, and Sunny Ridge which he did for several years. Ed was an avid reader, a wildlife artist, enjoyed bird watching, doing wildlife research, and naturopathy. Ed was a hard working and energetic man. He was unselfish and very devoted to raising his family. Edwin was a member of Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Oostburg where he was a member of the choir and the men's society.
Survivors include two daughters: Joyce (Rev. Tim) Wills and Frances (William) Brusse, both of Oostburg; five sons: Gary (Ingrid) of Appleton, Phillip of Sheboygan, Allan (Gay) of Oostburg, Dean of Seattle, Wash, and Dan (Jennie) Wynveen of Oostburg; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Esther Vander Waal of Oostburg; and two brothers-in-law, Lincoln (Jeanette) Davies of Oostburg, and Arthur (Olive) Davies of Holland, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta; a son, Steven; a granddaughter, Jymme Wynveen; three sisters: Alice Hopeman, Mable Neerhof, and Minnie Wynveen; and two brothers, his twin, Earl; and Henry Wynveen.
Funeral services for Edwin will be held on Monday, May 7, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel OPC, with the Rev. John Tinsley, pastor, officiating. A family service will precede at 10:15 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Burial will take place in Oostburg Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Sunday, from 2-5 pm; and on Monday, at church, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund will be established in his name for Bethel OPC and the Oostburg Christian School.
Online condolences may be sent to wenig@wenigfuneralhome.com.
The Wynveen family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Sunny Ridge for the devoted and loving care given to both of their parents during the past several years.
