    Obituary:
    Raymond J. Koerner, 86, N6430 Hwy 57 in Hilbert, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006. He was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Whitelaw son of the late William and Mayme (Meyer) Koerner.
    During his life, Ray worked for the Funds Cheese Factory in Sherwood as a licensed cheese maker and for Les Stumpf Ford in Sherwood & Kaukauna. He was a member of the Sherwood Lions Club and the Calumet County Steam Engine Club. Ray was also well known for repairing lawnmowers, sharpening saw blades, and for the picture frames he made for all of his friends.
    Survivors include his long time friend of 31 years, Richard Stecker and his wife, Anne Stecker and their children, Maggie, Tracy and Daniel, with whom he made his home for the past 22 years; two brothers, Victor Koerner, Manitowoc and Harold (Betty) Koerner, Whitelaw.
    He was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
    Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Marc Axelrod officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday when services will be held.
