Obituary:
Eleanor A. "Ellie" Jaeger, 80, Appleton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at her daughter's home following a lengthy battle. She was born May 27, 1928, to the late Clarence and Esther (Wussow) Bierman. Ellie married Alvin Jaeger on May 31, 1947. They were long time members of Zion Lutheran Church. She will always be remembered for her gifts and talent in crafting, sewing, knitting and cooking. Fishing, camping and spending time with her granddaughters and great granddaughters were most important to Eleanor.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Jacquelyn (Albert) Ploor, Appleton; granddaughters, Tammie (Jason) Schumacher, Appleton; and their daughters, Jenna and Alyssa; Wendy (Jonathon) Lear, Alabama and their daughter Emily; a brother, Lyle Bierman, Appleton. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son, David; brother Melvin (Ruth) Bierman and a sister-in-law Rosie Bierman.
Funeral services for Eleanor will be held Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church, Appleton with Rev. Ron Nielsen officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may visit the family from 9:30 a.m until the time of service at church Tuesday. A memorial fund is being established.
The family wishes to thank Drs. Jack Anderson and Nadeem Siddiqui, the whole ThedaCare Hospice team of nurses especially Amy, and Chaplains and aids that cared for Ellie and her family.
