Shirley is survived by four children: Margaret (Carl) Bonfiglio of Sarver, Pennsylvania; Gail (Nick) Smith of Rothschild, Wisconsin; Charles (Ellen) Jacobi of Sioux City, Iowa; and Mark (Christine Canaly) Jacobi of Crestone, Colorado. There are also eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren: Ann Bonfiglio of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Amy Bonfiglio and her fiance Peter Habuda of Boulder, Colorado; Wendy (Luke) Coenen of Hatley, Wisconsin, and their children Jacob, Vincent, and Kate; Stephanie (Michael) Mille of Appleton, Wisconsin, and their children Allison and Michael; Jennifer (Craig) Fisher of Appleton, Wisconsin, and their children Garrett and Natalie; Scott (Rebecca) Jacobi of Hudson, Wisconsin, and their children Claire and Leah; Stacy (Tony) Hudson of Columbia, Missouri, and their son Westley; and Marlon Jacobi of Crestone, Colorado.

She served as an ordained elder and deacon, was President of the Women's Organization and a choir member for many years. She was a past President of P.E.O., having chartered two chapters and becoming a 50-year member in 2001. Shirley was an avid supporter of the Fox Valley Symphony League, SAI Music Sorority, FISH Community Service, Appleton Medical Center volunteer, Sons of Norway, the Republican Party, and was a co-founder of the Jr. AAUW chapter of Neenah -Menasha in 1940.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2009, at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 803 E. College Avenue in Appleton, with Rev. Charles Valenti-Hein officiating. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Memorial Presbyterian Church or to the P.E.O. Sisterhood's IPS Fund.
The family would like to thank the entire "family" of Heritage Woods for the very special care over Shirley's many years of residence and also the staff of ThedaCare at Home Hospice for its compassion and kindness these last few weeks. We will never forget how wonderful you all have been. Thank you so very much.
