    Obituary:
Mayme Tauber, age 101, formally of Denmark, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2008, while surrounded by family at the Renaissance Assisted Living Facility, Appleton.
She was born July 8, 1906 in Denmark on the family farm to the late Martin and Elizabeth (Schaffer) Tauber. She attended Lange's Corner Country School and completed the 8th grade. She remained in Denmark working on the family farm with her brother, Tony, until his death in 1979. She remained on the farm until 1981 and then moved into a home that she had built in Denmark. She resided there until 2002, at which time she moved to Appleton to be closer to her nephew, Ronald Tauber and his family, and became a resident at the Renaissance Assisted Living Facility.
As a youngster she sang with her brothers and sisters and performed skits and songs to entertain the neighboring farmers. Mayme enjoyed entertaining others by singing and playing the accordion throughout various areas of Northeastern Wisconsin, such as at nursing homes, senior centers, civic events and birthdays with her nephew Ronald and his wife, Margaret. Additionally she was a member of the Jolly Czech's Band. She received several awards and television appearances for all of her volunteer work. Mayme was an excellent quilter and seamstress, making all of her own patterns. She was an avid gardener and canner and was more than happy to share her plentiful crops with neighbors and friends. She was a wonderful cook and well known for her special Bohemian dumplings. She was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark. She is survived by her nephews: Ronald (Margaret) Tauber, Appleton and Norman (Dolores) Tauber, Denmark, Wisconsin; Nieces: Marion Schoenfeldt, Milwaukee, Dorothy Seidl, Missouri, Romaine Thompson, Arizona, and Irene (Edwin) Marten, Sheyboygan Falls, and Deloris (Louis) Kosek, Wausau. She is preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers: John, Joe, Frank, Ed, Tony; and 2 sisters: Margaret Gieger and Frances Ehmke.
