Obituary:
LaVerne R. Larsen, age 73, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on February 16, 1936, son of the late Philip and Ruby (McFaul) Larsen. LaVerne served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; seven children and numerous grandchildren. LaVerne is further survived by three brothers, four sisters and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
A memorial service for LaVerne will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Valley Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Knitt officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
