Edna D. Hager, age 77, of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at her home. Edna was born on April 25, 1930, in Kimberly, the daughter of the late Carl and Grace (Hamilton) Robinson. On September 23, 1950, she was united in marriage to Eugene J. "Gene" Hager in Appleton. While living in Appleton, Edna worked for the HC Prange Company. In 1965, the couple moved to Cecil and bought the Fox Ballroom, which they owned and operated for 29 years, retiring in 1994. Gene preceded Edna in death on April 6, 2001. Edna was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano, the American Legion Auxiliary in Cecil, and the Cecil Moonlight Riders Snowmobile Club. She enjoyed snowmobiling, doing puzzles, playing bingo and going on bus trips.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Carla Jean (Mark) Ebert-Druckrey, Shawano; two grandchildren: Jason (fiancee, Tammy Johnson) Ebert, Green Bay; Ryan (special friend, Loren Klemm) Ebert, St. Paul, MN; a great-grandson, Denver; a sister, Carol (Glen) Remington of Gleason; and a brother, Ivan Robinson of Neenah.
Edna was preceded in death by: her husband, Gene; two children in infancy and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2007, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Peter L. Sherven officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday after 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
