    Obituary:
Beno, Cynthia "Cyndy" L. (nee Schlender)
Cynthia "Cyndy" L. (nee Schlender) Beno, 50, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, August 20, 2009, after many years of defying Cancer. Cyndy, daughter of the late Marvin and Luella (Koeller) Schlender, was born on August 3, 1959, in Appleton, WI. She was a graduate of Appleton West High School, class of 1976. Later she pursued her education at UW-Parkside, where she graduated Cum Laude in 1995 with a B.S. Degree in Psychology. Cyndy never missed an opportunity to better herself as she was always learning new things by reading and studying books, which was a way for her to stay on top in this ever-changing world. On May 9, 1980, she married David Beno and the couple enjoyed over 29 years of marriage together. Cyndy, by nature, was a homemaker first, as taking care of her family was the most important job that she fulfilled. She also was a part-time substitute teacher for many years as well as a Sunday school teacher. Cyndy was a very accomplished writer as those who received her personal notes and New Years updates can attest to. Gardening was a passion of hers as she always kept a beautiful flower garden. She enjoyed being outdoors with nature and found great peace by the water at the cottage on Center Lake. Cyndy had many passions in life but her greatest pride and joy was her family and she cherished the times spent with them, just being a family.
Cyndy is survived by her loving husband David, her sons Joseph (Kelsey) Beno, Memphis, TN; Daniel Beno and his close friend Emily, DeKalb, IL; Michael Beno, Green Bay; Anthony Beno, Green Bay; one sister and brother-in-law Kim and Kevin Rank, Shiocton, WI; Thomas Schlender, Little Chute, WI; her mother-in-law and father-in-law Gene and Mary Beno, Green Bay; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jane and Gary Nelson, Fence, WI; Ann and Mitch Kremer, Crystal Lake; IL; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Clare Beno, Green Bay. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2009, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church - LCMS 120 S. Henry Street, Green Bay, WI 54302. A Funeral Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the church with Rev. Greg Houland officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been established.
The family would like to offer a special acknowledgement and a warm note of appreciation to the many caregivers who touched Cyndy's life.
