    Robert "Bob" G. Coffeen, age 89, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at the All About Life Rehab Center in Fond du Lac. He was born April 23, 1918, in Chilton, the son of the late Oliver and Gusta Lieder Coffeen. He was educated in a one-room schoolhouse, called Grace Darling in Chilton. He served his country in the Army in World War II in the European Theater. Upon returning from the war he married Clara Keuler on February 25, 1946, at St. Mary Catholic Church, to this union was seven children. On September 15, 1993, he married Marlene Baumann in Fond du Lac. He retired from the Salvatorian Center in New Holstein in 1973. He was a member of A.A., Fond du Lac VFW and the Calumetville, Chilton and Empire Thresting Association. He founded (with a friend) Winnebagoland Central Office. Bob worked a lot of jobs so learned a lot of trades. One of his last jobs was Grandpa Bob's Fix-It Shop. He fixed toys for little tots free of charge just to see them smile. One of his last jobs was a sawmill in Hayton.
    Survivors include his wife, Marlene Coffeen, Fond du Lac; a son, Edward Robert (Rosanne) Coffeen, Kiel; six daughters: Ruthann (Vernon) Thede, Chilton; Carolyn Coffeen, Menasha; Arlene Coffeen, Rockford, IL; Mary (Earl) DeSombre, New Holstein; Teresa Coffeen and Joey (John) Meyer, both of Appleton; mother-in-law, Myra Brummond, Hartford; three stepchildren: Kurtis Baumann, Beaver Dam; Denise Kohn, Monroe; Krista (Kent) Below, Rochester, MN; a brother, George (Gerri) Coffeen, New Holstein; 13 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Timothy Thede.
    Memorial service will be Friday, July 20 at 7 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Fond du Lac. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials appreciated to the Free S.P.I.R.I.T. Riders Inc. or Hospice Hope.

    George W. Coffeen, age 85, of New Holstein, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at the Willowdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein surrounded by his children. He was born on May 15, 1924, in the Town of Brothertown, son of the late Oliver & Augusta (Lieders) Coffeen. He married Virginia Shaurette on June 29, 1946, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton; she preceded him in death on June 1, 1979. On July 30, 1988, he married Germaine (Langer) Bartel, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marytown. He had farmed in the Town of Brothertown, worked for the Chilton CO-OP, worked for Tecumseh Products in New Holstein for 19 years until retiring. After that he found his real love was driving bus for the Daun Bus Services of Chilton for 15 years, receiving "Bus Driver of the Year" award. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Marytown. George was an avid sports fan, following the Packers and the Brewers, but most of all he loved following the sporting events of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Survivors include his wife, Germaine; nine children and their families, Jim (Diane) Coffeen, Chilton, and their family, Kim (Jeff) Gengler and their children, Amber and Jacob of Hilbert, Kevin Coffeen and special friend Peggy and his children McKenna & Coltin of De Pere, Kris (Tom) Gehrt and their children Megan & Mason of Menasha, Kelly (Ben) Burlingham and their son Grant of Malone; Judy (Tom) Stoffel of Menasha, and their children Ryan Stoffel DVM of Columbia MO, Nikki Stoffel of Baltimore, MD, Becky (Rob) Sepnafski and their son Colby of Kenosha; Shirley (Larry F.) Schneider of Malone and their children Scott (Diane) Schneider of Oshkosh, Brad Schneider of Oshkosh, Tanya Schneider and Special Friend Tim Schmitz, and her son Braeden Rockow of Kiel; Sandy (Bill) Sell and their children, Sarah and Jody Sell and special friend Mike, all of Menasha; Jean (Robert) Steffes and their children Robert (Ashley) Steffes, Michael, Marie, and Andrew Steffes, all of Johnsburg; Daniel Coffeen and his children, Kyle and fiancee Jeni, and Kady, all of Chilton; Cynthia Cummings of Cottonwood Shores, TX and her daughter Amanda (Matt) Winsborough of San Angelo, TX; Karen (Dan) Hopp and their children, Eric Henslin, Nathan and Danielle Hopp, all of Waupun; Patrick Coffeen of Eldorodo, and his children Zachary, Alexis, and Cassandra Coffeen, along with their mother Dawn of Fond du Lac; six stepchildren, Jim (Judy) Bartel of Lake Jerome, MI, Mark (Kay) Bartel of Lexington, TN, Ann (Rudy) Klarenaar of the Netherlands, Lee (Alice) Bartel of Chilton, Jeanne (Mark) Kuba of New Holstein, Bruce (Dawn) Bartel of Wrightstown, a stepson-in-law, Jerry Monville of Rudolph, 17 step-grandchildren, 24 stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Dale Shaurette of New Holstein; two sisters-in-law, Judy Shaurette of Columbia, SC, and Clara Coffeen of New Holstein; many nieces and nephews.
    He was also preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Floyd and Anna Shaurette; a granddaughter, Moria Stoffel; a brother, Robert Coffeen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harland and Joanne Shaurette, Glen Shaurette, Ina & Willard Brusse; a step-daughter, Barb Monville.
    Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday October 10, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marytown, with the Rev Joe Coerber officiating. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, and on Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marytown from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
