Obituary:
Duane Anthony Enders, age 78, of Hortonville, peacefully passed away at home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 8, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was born August 13, 1932, in Wabeno, WI, son of the late John and Alice Enders. He married Darlene Meeks on August 11, 1962, in Fussville at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Duane served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959. Duane was an Industrial Engineer by trade and retired from Ariens Company of Brillion, WI, in 1997. He was a faithful member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville volunteering his time, talent and treasure for over 34 years. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, creating fabulous artwork, playing cribbage, and spending time with his family.
He leaves behind his wife, Darlene (Meeks) of 48 years; his children, Debbie (Fred) Murphy; Christopher (Lori) Enders, and their children, Kimberly (Jason) Quandt and expected son, Austin Enders, and Evan Enders; Michael (Natasha) Enders, and their children, Moira, Annika, Naomi, Anora, and Samuel; and Joseph Enders. He also leaves behind brothers, Richard (Faye) Enders, Jean Enders, Timothy (Mary) Enders, and sisters Barbara (Gerry) Audit, and Katherine (Mark) Kielty; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Corby (Karen) Meeks, Carol Jean Meeks, Beverly (Bill) Gilbert, Tom (Pat) Meeks, Jerry (Holly) Meeks, Kristine (Randy) Belling, Sam (Pam) Meeks, Buster (Becky) Meeks, Bucky (Joyce) Meeks, Randy (Anissa Johnson) Meeks, Faron Meeks, Tammy (Tim) Hansen.
Along with his parents, Duane was also preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Marlea Meeks, Sharon (Art) Ernst; brothers-in-law, Jim Meeks, Charles Meeks.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Enders, and sister, Mary Susan Enders.
Always giving more than he received, Duane was a selfless and caring role model who was deeply loved and cherished by his family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Hortonville, with Reverend Msgr. James Feely, Father Paul Vanden Hogan, Deacon Ken Belgrin and Parish Director, Greg Layton officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be donated to the Saints Peter and Paul Church.
