    Baileys Harbor, formerly of Appleton
    Helen Jeanne Zuehlke, age 83, died at 12 noon at her residence in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin, on September 8, 2010. She was born September 12, 1926, in Park Falls, WI, to the late Judge Jerome Vincent and Helen (Denzin) Ledvina, and was raised in Manitowoc. On July 30, 1949, she married Gustave Albert Zuehlke, who preceded her in death last year. Helen Jeanne and Gus celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in Door County last summer with their children, grandchildren and friends.
    She is survived by her three children: Helen "Holly" (David) Brandewie, Valparaiso, Indiana, Gus (Karen) Zuehlke Jr., South Bend, Indiana, and Mary Ann (Paul) Mindel, Brookfield, Wisconsin; a brother, Martial "Marty" (Pat) Ledvina, Tucson, Arizona; and six grandchildren: Elena, Jacob, Phillip, Dimitri, Anna and Zachary.
    A brother, Jerome Paul "Jerry" (Pat) Ledvina, preceded her in death.
    Helen Jeanne graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc and graduated from Our Lady of the Lake College, San Antonio, Texas, with a B.A. in English and a Minor in Spanish. She was a member of Sigma Tau Delta, an Honorary Organization for English Students and wrote for the "Palms" magazine as well as for the school newspaper. She was an English and Spanish Teacher for over 25 years. Helen Jeanne taught at Xavier High School in Appleton. She was loved by her students and the faculty. She was an avid golfer; she competed and won many tournaments over the years. She won the title of Women's Champion in Appleton many times.
    She was a member of several bridge clubs and was a fine writer and an avid reader. She participated in many Adult Education Seminars to constantly further her education. She was a member of St. Paul Rosary Group and a member of St. Bernard Parish, Appleton. She was also a member of Stella Maris Parish, Jacksonport. Helen Jeanne showed kindness and gracious hospitality to everyone.
    A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2010, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton, with Msgr. John Schuh officiating. Friends may visit on Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, and directly at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A Wake Service will take place at the funeral chapel Sunday at 7 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund has been established for the Helen Jeanne Zuehlke Scholarship Fund at Xavier High School.

    Helen Jean Zuehlke, age 83, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at her home in Baileys Harbor. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 13, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Friends may visit from 4 - 7 p.m. TODAY at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, and directly at the church tomorrow morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.
