Joseph R. Holeton, age 72, died on Monday, August 30, 2010, at Appleton Medical Center from complications from Parkinson's and COPD.
Joseph was born in Antigo on April 4, 1938, to Raymond and Rose (Jicha) Holeton. He attended St. Mary's grade school and the Antigo High School where he played trombone in the Antigo High School band. He later joined the Air Force and was stationed in California from 1955-1959. He married Veronica Devorak in 1960 and later married Barbara Piechocki of Appleton in 1984. Joseph completed a four year RCA electronics course and loved anything that had to do with electronics and computers. He worked for 30 years at Appleton Wire Division of Albany International and retired in 1995 due to health reasons.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, sons David (Andrea) Holeton and granddaughter Vanessa of Fulda, Germany, Mike (Lynn) Holeton and granddaughters, Carly and Claire, Appleton and James Holeton and a daughter, Lisa Holeton both from California, and a sister, Mary (Gary) Sauter of Weston, WI.
Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Holeton, father, Raymond Holeton and a son, John Holeton.
A funeral service for Joseph will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Valley Funeral Home. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial with full military honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established in his name.
