    Obituary:
Marcella F. Selk, 90, Chilton, died on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Century Ridge in Chilton. She was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Chilton, daughter of the late Otto and Helen (Schwobe) Veit of Chilton.
Marcella farmed with her husband in the Chilton area and later worked at the Calumet Medical Center in the housekeeping department. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and volunteered many hours in the school lunch program. Marcella was also a member of the Good Shepherd Christian Women, the Chilton Eagles Club and the Senior Citizens Club where, for 28 years, she was in charge of sending "Get Well" cards to its members.
She enjoyed spending time perfecting her counted cross-stitching and made many beautiful works of art. Marcella loved playing games because it gave her an opportunity to spend time with any number of people of any age. The youngest child, or the young of heart, cherished listening to her contagious laugh while playing Pictionary, Sheepshead and Uno.
Marcella was one of the kindest, gentlest people a person could meet. No one was a stranger to her and her strong, resilient attitude lifted everyone's spirits. Her family loved the gift of her presence in their lives as well. Whether it was one of her delicious home-cooked meals or an opportunity to travel with her children, she always made sure that she treasured each and every moment with each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Steve) Clark, Neenah; three sons, Ervin E. (Carol) Selk, Chilton; Thomas (Bernita) Selk, Green Bay; Paul (Ann) Selk, Green Bay; her grandchildren, Nathan (Annie) Selk, Nicholas (Alison) Selk, Meredith (Darren) Johnson, Allison Selk, Maria Selk and Rachel Selk; her great-grandchildren, Ellanor Selk and Harrison Selk; a sister, Adeline Hoerth; and her in-laws, Greg and Irene Halfmann, Shirley Selk and Leander and Dorothy Selk. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, and her parents.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, and on Tuesday at the church from 10 to 11:15 a.m.
The family would like to thank the staff of Century Ridge and the Calumet County Visiting Nurses for all of the wonderful care you provided to Marcella.
