    Obituary:
    Glen Hidde, age 87, New London, died on Thursday, January 6, 2011. Glen was born on December 6, 1923, in Hortonia Township (Outagamie County), son of the late Oscar and Myrtle (Learman) Hidde. He served his country in the US Army, during WWII and was a lifetime member of the VFW. On February 2, 1957, he was united in marriage to Sarah Brown. She preceded him in death in 1982. He worked at Hillshire Farms (SaraLee) for 32 years; until his retirement in 1984. Glen enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers. He liked to sit outside and watch the cars go by.
    Glen is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Allen) Diem, New London; Brenda Burns, New London; Jane (Thomas) Riley, Waupaca; a son Wayne (Sue) Hidde, New London; brothers, Harold "Ike" Hidde, New London; Al Hidde (special friend Irma Lucht), New London; and Melvin (Jan) Hidde, New London; sisters, Hilda Fronczak, Weyauwega; Alice Jonely, New London. He is further survived by ten grandchildren: Jason (Wendy), Justin, Stacy, Tiffany, Jennifer (Virgil), Tonya (Scott), Matthew, Michael (fiance Karen), John, and Brian; seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah; brothers, Carl Hidde and Vic (Ione) Hidde; sister, Dorothy (H.L.) Raper; brother in-laws, Gordon Fronczak, Ken Jonely, sister in-laws, Linda Hidde and Viola Hidde; son in-law, Roger Burns and two granddaughters, Amber and Christine Burns.
    Funeral services for Glen will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London, with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery. Military Rites will be held. Visitation will be held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London on Sunday, from 4-8 p.m. and also at the church on Monday after 9 a.m. until the time of service.
    Special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph Residence, New London Family Medical Center and especially to Glen's brother Al for his care and kindness during Glen's illness.
