Obituary:
Edward J. Herzfeldt, age 82, Dale, died on Sunday, March 27, 2011. Edward was born on Dec. 19, 1928, in Appleton, son of the late Albert and Lizzie (Arndt) Herzfeldt. He served his country in the U.S. Military in Korea from 1951 - 1956. He was a machine operator until his retirement at Coppen's Construction, where he worked his entire life. Edward loved John Deere Tractors and going for rides touring the countryside.
He is survived by his children, Greg (Gege) Herzfeldt; Robin Miller, and Leann Olson; two sisters, Esther Olson and Erna Dumke. Grandchildren, Jennifer Wheeler, Kimberly (Nathan) Rebarchik, Amanda Kleist, Alex Wouts, Kristel Wouts, Greg Herzfeldt Jr., and Jon Herzfeldt; great-grandchildren, Alana and Antavious and also other relatives and friends.
His parents, brothers, Arnie, Clarence, Aurthur and Max, a sister, Hulda and a grandson, Grady, preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Ed will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, Dale, with Rev. Jim Deckert officiating. Burial will be in the Dale Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, from 4-7 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London, and also at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
