Obituary:
Wilma E. Hankemeier, age 88, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011. She was born on October 24, 1922, in Neenah, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Hahn) Strusinske. On June 26, 1943, she married Ernst Hankemeier in the Town of Clayton. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1980. Wilma and her husband farmed in the Town of Greenville for many years. She loved to sew, crochet and also loved textile painting and reading. She was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Greenville.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Alan Hankemeier and Friend MaryJo Lutz, Appleton; Nancy (David) Leintz, Appleton; Jack (Luann) Hankemeier, Fremont; Judy (Keith) Thomas, Appleton; Mark (Kim) Hankemeier, Greenville; Lynn (Brian) Bangart, Kaukauna; Donna (Todd) Allen, Oshkosh; James (Rosa) Olson, Costa Rica; Julie (Ed) Kramm, Omro; a sister: Lois (Ruebin) Olson, Neenah; brothers-in-law: Alvin Hankemeier, Dale; David (Donna) Brehmer, Oshkosh; Jerald (Mary) Hankemeier, Menasha; also many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, also brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A Christian Funeral for Wilma will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Greenville with Rev. Joel Heckendorf officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Greenville. Friends may call AT THE CHURCH (W7265 School Road) on Tuesday (TODAY) from 4-7 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Sunday School Carribbean Mission Project.
