    Jean Van Dera, Little Chute, Jean Magdeline Van Dera, age 88, went home to our Lord on Thursday, July 17th, 2014 with her daughter at her side. She was born on February 24, 1926 to the late Nicholas & Gertrude (VandeHey) Vandenberg. On May 2, 1944 she married her husband of 62 years, Theodore J Van Dera, who preceded her in death in 2006. Jean worked at Riverside Paper Mill for nine years, helped her husband on the milk route for six years before purchasing the bar known as "Ted & Jean's Bar" in St. John which they ran for 34 years, before retiring to their home on Boundary Lake near Crivitz and then to Kaukauna. Jean loved to write & always had a dream to write a book. In 1996 her dream was fulfilled and her book, "A Twist of Faith" was complete.
    Jean is survived by her daughter Pamela Van Dera, New Holstein; and her son Theodore W. Van Dera, Appleton; her grandchildren: Jason (Mette) Hervig, Justin Van Dera, and Amanda Verkuilen; great grandchildren: Kieshon, Analeigha, Ariela, Madalynn, & William; sisters & brothers-in-law: Pearl Pleshek, Isabell (Gilbert) Vosters, June (Merlin) School, & Joan Schultz; sister-in-law June Van Dera, & brother-in-law James Hoffman.
    Jean was preceded in death by her husband Theodore, her 3 sisters & a brother: Zita Huisman and her husbands Emery Mollen, and Nic Huisman, Yvonne Hoffman, Margie Vandenberg, Douglas (Carol) Vandenberg; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Roy Pleshek, Bill Schultz, Pete (Elaine)Van Dera, Hank (Blanche)Van Dera, Bob Van Dera, Loretta (Victor) Nackers.
    A Mass of Christian Burial for Jean will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014, at St. John's Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 Pine Street, Little Chute with Father Ron Belitz & Msgr. James Vanden Hogen concelebrating. Friends may call directly at church from 2 p.m. until the time of mass. Entombment will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Boettcher Family Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. A memorial fund has been established in her name. www.boettcherfamilyfuneral.com
    Jean was a real people person & will be missed by the many whose lives she had touched.
    A special "Thank You" to the staff at Parkside Care Center, the Heartland Hospice staff, Doctors Jack & Todd Meyer, Community Care, and the many caregivers over the years.
