She was born in Asketon (sic), Wisconsin on March 9th, 1895, and atten ded St. Patrick grade school there. She attended St. Joseph Academy, Gre en Bay, for one year, and in 1922, graduated from St. Joseph's School of N ursing, Milwaukee, as a registered nurse. She was married to Lawren ce J. Weiss on June 25th, 1930. Mrs. Weiss was a member of the St. Mary C atholic Church, parish and Oshkosh Council of Catholic women. Surviving a re her husband, Lawrence, one son, the Rev. John w as a graduate of St.Norbert College. He and Mary Ann VandeLoo were married on July 11, 194 2, at St. Mary Catholic Church in De Pere. John was a mining engineer in t he Upper Peninsula of Michigan and had been employedas a civil engineer for the State of Wisconsin Highway Department in Gre en Bay. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, De Pere, the De Pe re Area Golden ""K"" and the Knights of Columbus.Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Fox and their children, Ann Fox, DePe re; Dr. Tom andRoberta Fox, Atlantic Beach, Fla.; Mary Lynn and Jeff Crisco, Whitefish Ba y; six grandchildren,Patrick, Thomas and Matthew Fox, Becky, Andrew and Emily Crisco; one siste r, Delores Miller,Arizona. He is further survived by his ""special buddy, Peg Schumacher; ni eces, nephews, otherrelatives and special friends. Terrance F. Brick "Terry" Kaukauna
Age 79, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute. He was born on April 2, 1934 in the Town of Holland, son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Hart) Brick. Terry was employed as a lift truck operator for 42 years at Thilmany Paper Mill until his retirement. He was a member of the Kaukauna Lions Club and a past member of the Kaukauna Athletic Club. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and the Boston Red Sox.
Terry is survived by his four children: Kevin (Connie) Brick, Tom (Cindy) Brick, Kerri (Scott) Miller, and Tiffany (David) Ortiz; ten grandchildren: Eric Vanden Boogard, Kim (Brian) Kosmosky, Lindsay (Scott Goldsmith) Brick, Austin Brick, Jonathon Brick, Bailey Miller, Nicholas Miller, Yessica Ortiz, Alexandra Ortiz, and D'Angelo Ortiz; five great-grandchildren: Makennah Vandehey, Nevaeh Kosmosky, Marlee Vanden Boogard, Danicah Kosmosky, and baby girl Goldsmith; his brothers and sisters: Joanne (Ralph) Runnoe, Gene (Helen) Brick, Kay Fischer, Robert (Karen) Brick, and Margaret (William) Balzer. Vande Yacht, Maryann E. Kaukauna, Age 83, passed away at her home following a 25 year journey of various cancers on Friday, November 21, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 4, 1931 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Walter and Esther (Fox) Summers and resided in Askeaton, WI. She attended grade school at St. Patrick's in Askeaton, and high school in Oshkosh and Kaukauna from which she graduated in 1949. On April 4, 1951 she was united in marriage to Roy A. Vande Yacht and they moved to Hollandtown where they resided for 29 years. In 1980, they moved to Kaukauna. Maryann worked for the former Appleton Papers, Kimberly Clark's Kimtech, and Lakeview Mills and retired from Lakeview on January 1, 1996.
She is survived her her three daughters: Sharon Nisler, Lynn Vande Yacht, and Vicki Vande Yacht; two granddaughters: Sara (Dan) Miller and Amie Nisler; her sisters: Dolores Besaw, Phyllis (Patrick) Stumph, Patricia Van Linn, Pauline (Maynard) Krueger, and Judith (Robert) Wurdinger; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Summers. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband Roy, her parents, her father and mother-in-law: Benedict and Henrietta Vande Yacht, a brother Thomas Summers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert Besaw, Joseph Van Linn, Hugo and Grace Vande Yacht, Lillian and Ralph Lauer, and Clifford Vandeyacht.

Obituary:
Thomas Summers, age 72, of Kaukauna, died on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his home after a three year battle with acute myelogenous leukemia. He was born on March 21, 1942, in Askeaton, to the late Walter and Esther (Fox) Summers. Tom was very proud of his Irish heritage and spent his first five years of school at St. Patrick School in Askeaton, then 6th to 8th grade at St. Mary School in Kaukauna. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1960. Tom served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 until 1964. While stationed in Glasgow, Montana, he met his future wife on a blind date. Tom and Yvonne "Bonnie" Schmitz were united in marriage on July 18, 1964, at St. Mary's Church in Golva, North Dakota. They raised their family of four in Hollandtown and belonged to St. Francis Parish. He was an 18 year member of the Hollandtown Volunteer Fire Department. Tom worked for Brooks Oil Co. for 24 years and drove bus part-time for Kobussen Bus. He then worked for 13 years at Kimberly Clark, Neenah South Plant. After retiring in 2004, he worked part-time delivering tires for ATF Tires in Kaukauna. In 1988, they moved back to Kaukauna and became members of St. Mary Parish. He served on the Cemetery and Building and Grounds Committees.
Tom is survived by his wife, Bonnie Summers; four children: Bob (Mary Keen) Summers of Wrightstown, Marie (Chris) Semrow of Fitchburg, Sue (Bob) Ruonavarra of DePere and Ann Summers of Kaukauna; ten grandchildren: Katie and Andrew Summers; Kristen, Alex, Michael and Allie Semrow; Anthony, Riley, Sara (Jason) Weis and Geoff (Kelly) Ruonavarra; and two great grandchildren, Brenna and Collin Ruonavarra.
One of God's greatest gifts to Tom was being able to watch his children and then his grandchildren grow in their church, community and country as servers, readers, ushers, Boy and Eagle Scouts, sports players, musicians, actors and actresses, and turning 18 and voting for the first time. Family reunions and vacations in Tomahawk were the highlights of the year. Another gift was a special group of friends and classmates that have played Sheepshead together since the 60's.
As the only brother of six sisters, he was never spoiled and will be missed by Maryann VandeYacht, Patsy Van Linn, Pauline (Nard) Krueger, Judy (Bob) Wurdinger, all of Kaukauna; Dolores Besaw of Neenah and Phyllis (Pat) Stumpf of Combined Locks. He is further survived by his western family of five sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Elaine Zachmann and Paul (Marylee) Schmitz of Beach, North Dakota; Marge Fries of Mott, North Dakota; and Earlene (Dan) Carney and Annette (Steve) Schindler of Glasgow, Montana.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife's parents Earl and Marie Schmitz, a son Michael, nephews Jim Stumpf and Brian Schindler, niece Donna Fries, and brothers-in-law, Roy VandeYacht, Joe VanLinn, Tom McGinnis, Bob Besaw, Harry Zachmann and Don Fries, along with aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
The funeral liturgy for Tom will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 25, 2014 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL, ST. MARY CHURCH, 119 W. Seventh Street in Kaukauna. Fr. Walter Stumpf (nephew) and Fr. Jerry Pastors will be officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the CHURCH on Thursday from 4:00 pm until the prayer service at 7:00 pm and again on Friday morning from 10:00 am until the time of mass. Inurnment will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery in Askeaton. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Chronic Disease Fund or The American Cancer Society . The funeral liturgy for Pat will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, St Francis Church in Hollandtown, with Fr. Willie Van De Loo officiating. Waupaca - Patrick H. Finnegan, age 85, formerly of Kaukauna, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Park Vista Retirement Living in Waupaca. He was born on April 30, 1932 to the late Robert and Myra (Cashman) Finnegan. Pat grew up on a farm in Hollandtown and attended St. Francis Grade School in Hollandtown. He was a member of the 1949 graduating class of Kaukauna High School and went on to major in Education and Mathematics at St. Norbert College, graduating in 1953. He participated in track and was a member of the 1950 and 1952 undefeated football teams.
From 1953 to 1955, Pat served in the US Army, stationed at Fort Benning and Fort Leonard Wood. On August 4, 1956 Pat married the former Lois Koenig of West DePere. They then settled in Madison for Pat to pursue his Master's Degree at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. In 1957, Pat's career took the family to the Milwaukee area and then in 1961 they settled in Kaukauna, where Pat worked for Home Mutual Insurance Company (currently Secura) where he held the positions of Computer Programmer, Data Processing Manager and Internal Auditor. After being employed there for 33 years, he retired in 1994.
Pat was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca and St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Kaukauna. While at St. Al's he served as a lector and was the past president of the St. Al's School Board. Pat was a life-time member of the Kaukauna Elks Club, serving as Exalted Ruler in 1969 and 1970. He was also the past president of the Kaukauna High School Alumni Board and continued to be an active member. He was also a member of the St. Norbert's College Alumni Board.
Patrick was an AVID Green Bay Packers fan, being a season ticket holder since 1961. He also enjoyed golfing, reading and traveling. Being very proud of his Irish heritage, he traveled to Ireland twice.
Pat is survived by his daughters: Lynn (Gary) Janssen of Waupaca and Sandy (Dan) Allen of Collierville, Tennessee; his son: Kevin Finnegan of Minneapolis; his daughter-in-law: Tracy Finnegan-Boeckh of Annandale, New Jersey; and his sister-in-law: Rose Mary Koenig of Green Bay. He is further survived by his six grandchildren: Scott (Laura) Janssen, Sarah (Jake) Adams, Davis and Griffin Allen, and Nick and Mitchell Finnegan; five great-grandchildren: Logan and Elyse Janssen, Maliyah, Nevaeh and Dominic Adams, as well as one nephew, Mark Koenig, and three nieces: Karen Nier, Sheri Prosser, and Terry La Violette, and his special cousin, Mary Ellen (Clem) Devine.
In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his wife Lois, his son Tim, his brother Hugh and his brother-in-law Donald Koenig.
The Funeral Liturgy for Pat will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at St. Katharine Drexel Parish - St. Francis Church, located at 433 County Road CE in Hollandtown. Fr. Willie Van De Loo will preside, assisted by Pastoral Leader Steve Vande Hey. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the mass at noon.
In honor of Patrick's Irish heritage, the family is asking for all to be "wearing of the green".
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name to the Kaukauna High School Alumni Association.

Helen Forbeck is beginning her first day of retirement today after a long career in politics, including most recently serving in the Beloit office of U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin, the newly elected Wisconsin senator.
For nine years, Forbeck was charged with managing Baldwin's Beloit Congressional office. Baldwin was elected to the U.S. Senate in the November election.
"She was just a treasure to work for. In my humble opinion, she stood for the right things, and was consistent yet flexible. I was very proud to work for her. She was a great representative, and she'll be a great senator," Forbeck said. "It's been a pleasure I and appreciate the opportunity to serve."
As Forbeck focuses on the next stage of her life, she said she will feel freer to speak out publicly on more issues. Although she doesn't plan to run for any local offices, she said she will remain active in helping campaigns and staying true to her convictions.
"I'll be around," she said.
Forbeck, 68, said she had considered moving on with Baldwin, but wasn't interested in having to work out of Madison or Milwaukee and the necessary driving associated with it. She decided now would be a good time to catch up with her grandchildren, pursue her love of genealogical research and just have fun.
Forbeck, born Helen Fink, grew up in Menasha and attended college at Marquette, majoring in history and minoring in English and Education. She was a teacher for two years in the Milwaukee area before moving to Beloit in 1970. She was a stay-at-home mom for 12 years while doing substitute teaching and working on Les Aspin's 1982 campaign for Congress.
While raising her family Forbeck was active in the community for years as a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, soccer coach, girl's softball coach, and a member of both the Beloit Planning and Beloit Parks and Recreation commissions prior to her service on City Council.
She worked at Rock County Opportunities Industrialization Center for almost eight years as a job developer. From 1991 to 1993 she served as Rep. Les Aspin's ombudswoman, where she managed his district office, represented the congressman at local functions and helped local communities and businesses secure and retain federal resources.
Her experience extended to the Beloit City Council where she served three terms and was elected the first female City Council president. Following her service in his congressional office, Forbeck joined Aspin at the Department of Defense where she served as a special assistant in the Office of the Secretary of Defense in Washington.
after being elected to office herself, Forbeck said she discovered she preferred to work for someone else. She said she admires and respects politicians' commitment to public service, noting that traveling back and forth can be very wearing. Forbeck was particularly impressed with Baldwin's "grace under fire."
"She just cares abut people and is a class act," she said.
Forbeck said she introduced herself to Baldwin when she was first elected in the late 1990s during a reception. She was drawn to Baldwin's unwavering commitment to civil rights, the environment and health care. Once Forbeck worked for Baldwin, she said she found it to be a family-friendly and supportive office.
"We, in turn, would give her (Baldwin) everything and work hard for her. It was like family," Forbeck said.
Although Forbeck enjoyed her years managing Baldwin's Beloit Congressional Office, she is ready to start a new chapter with her family. With two sons, two daughters, and twelve grandchildren, Forbeck will be busy watching sports or leading ice fishing and sledding expeditions, although she's in the "watching and driving" phase of participation.
Forbeck is also working on leaving her grandchildren a legacy of family research after travels to Holland and Ireland to unearth more family history. She's already discovered an ancestor in the Civil War as well as Vinkenvleugel, an early predecessor to the Fink family. Forbeck plans to continue her adventures seeking out clues to her family's past to hand over to the future generations.

Helen Fink Forbeck of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away at her home on January 14, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born in Appleton, Wisconsin, on December 7, 1944, and was raised in her family home in Menasha, Wisconsin. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Menasha in 1963, and she then attended Marquette University and graduated in 1967 with a bachelor's degree.
She taught middle school in Milwaukee until she moved to Beloit in 1970, where she was a devoted mother to her four children. She later worked as a job developer at OIC. She was an active member of the Democratic Party and the League of Women Voters for decades, and she served on the Beloit City Council from 1985 to 1991, during which she was elected the first woman president of the City Council. She left the Council to work for US Congressman Les Aspin as his ombudsperson. When he became Secretary of Defense in 1993, she moved to Alexandria, Virginia, to work at the Pentagon for the Department of Defense. She returned to Beloit in 2002 to help with the arrival of her quadruplet grandchildren and spend more time with the rest of her children and grandchildren. In 2003, she opened the Beloit office of US Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin and ran it until her retirement in 2013. She became interested in genealogy many years ago and spent countless hours researching her family's history. She volunteered regularly at Caritas and spent much of her retirement visiting with her children and grandchildren, playing games (especially multiple-hand solitaire) and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include her children Matt (Ann) Forbeck of Beloit, Wisconsin; Mark Forbeck of Lake Mills, Wisconsin; and Kim (Todd Dunsirn) Forbeck, and Jody (Nanni Marta) Forbeck of Shorewood, Wisconsin; brothers Tom Fink and John (Sue) Fink and sister Joan (Dick) Kuhn; grandchildren Martin, Patrick, Nicholas, Kenneth, and Helen Forbeck; Savannah and Delaney Forbeck; Murray, Henry, and Leo Dunsirn; and Luke and Matteo Marta, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in eath by her sister and brother-in-law Mary C. (Fink) and Charlie Atchinson; sister-in-law Barbara Fink; nephews Thomas and Gregory Fink; parents Berenice (Murray) Fink and Ray J. Fink; grandparents Mary (Daly) and Martin Murray, and Bridget (Finnerty) and John B. Fink; great-grandparents Winifred (Kelly) and Thomas Murray, Ellen (Hogan) and John Daly, Anna (Lauterbach) and Herman Fink (Vinkenvleugel), and Catherine (Keating) and Thomas Finnerty.
The greatest hope she had for this world as she left it is that our current president leaves office as soon as possible, along with any other bigots, homophobes, and racists. She asked those who support such beliefs to not dare to attend her visitation or funeral.
A memorial service of remembrance for Helen will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Visitation of remembrance will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Sunday in the funeral home.

John was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on Sept. 26, 1940, to Mary Lou (Leonhard) and John Howard Brick. He grew up in Askeaton, Wis. He was the oldest of nine children. He died in his home on Aug. 1, at the age of 73 with family members at his side. At age 16, he began flight lessons which would soon develop into his life-long career and passion.
He graduated from Parks Aeronautical College as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. After graduating he met Pat. They were happily married for 52 years.
John served a 28 year career in the Air Force, accumulating 6,000 hours of flying time in a variety of aircraft such as T-37, T-33, T-38, F-100, 01-E, OV-10, A-7D and the A-10. He earned the Silver Star and the Legion of Merit among other medals. He retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1990.
In his retirement he built his own airplane (RV4) and flew whenever he got the chance. He said that his wife Pat was the best passenger he could ever ask for! They flew across the country many times visiting family and friends. He was an active member of the EAA, editor for his local chapter newsletter for 15 years and also worked with the Young Eagles. He made many great friends at Pierce County Airport Thun Field.
John was preceded in death by his parents Mary Lou and John Howard, and brothers David and Denis (Camille). He is survived by his wife Patricia and their three children: Jeff (Pam), Joseph and Laura; grandchildren Eli, Ruby, Jordan and John-Allan; sisters Jeanne (Dave) Trumpy, Mary Claire (Marvin) Matzke, Laurie (Richard) Lambert; brothers Tom (Kathy), Kevin (Sally) and Steven.
Remembrances may be made to Wounded Warriors. He will be forever missed and loved.

Age 51, passed away at Parkside Care Center on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. He was born in Kaukauna on September 7, 1960, the son of Patrick and Phyllis (Summers) Stumpf, and raised on the family farm in Darboy. On September 30, 2003 he married Jackie Austin in Appleton. Jim was proud to serve in the United States Army, including a tour in Panama. In 1991, Jim was accepted into the United States Secret Service, Uniformed Division, and served at the White House. Jim loved home improvement, gardening, golfing, and was an avid Packer fan. He will be remembered for putting others needs before his and his wonderful sense of humor.
