    Gary (Snake) L. Hietpas, 50, Seymour, passed away Sunday morning, March 16, 2008, at his home after a long, courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loved ones. Gary was born April 8, 1957, son of the late William and Armella Hietpas. On Sept. 1, 2001, he was united in marriage to Connie Olson. Gary graduated from Seymour High School in 1975. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving three years from 1977 to 1980. He was then employed as an inspector for 23 years at Voith Fabric in Appleton.
    Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time at his cabin up north and spending time with his dog, Buddy. Gary also enjoyed spending time with all of his special friends, Randy Samson, Rick Dopkins, Tom Van Lanen, Al Spoehr, Rick Bridges, Don Reader and many, many more.
    He is survived by his wife, Connie. He has two step-daughters, Tammy (Dave) Lambert, Denmark; Kelly (Brian) Ness, Manitowoc; three step-grandchildren, Pvt. Shawn Olson, Adam Vieau and Nicole Ness; one great-stepgranddaughter, Cassie; mother-in-law, Beatrice Olson, Pulaski; three brothers, David (Sue) Hietpas, Rockford, Ill.; Geno (Jenny) Hietpas, Black Creek; Brian Hietpas, Menasha; two sisters, Beth (Marv) Smith, Seymour; Barb (Dave) Ulmen, Lake Tomahawk; stepgrandmother, Josephine Van Heeswyk, Little Chute; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Laura and Kellen, Nicole and Rachelle Hietpas, Joe Smith, Justin (Stacy), Tom (Samantha) Noel.
    Gary was preceded in death by his parents, William Hietpas and Armella (Van Heeswyk) Hietpas; and Grandma Sylvia.
    Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Seymour, from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, Township of Maple Grove. Military rites will follow at the church. There will be a gathering at Skunk Hill following the services.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the St. John's Cemetery in Little Chute, WI. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414/
