Obituary:
John E. Zachek, age 57, of Appleton, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Cherry Meadows Hospice following a battle with cancer. John was born in Appleton on June 29, 1959, to the late Howard and Lois (Utchig) Zachek. He graduated from Appleton East High School with the class of 77. On January 21, 2000, he was united in marriage to Theresa Bilyeu in Appleton. John was a plant manager at Fairmont Minerals in Readfield, where he's worked for many years. He loved animals and sci-fi movies. Last month, John completed his "bucket list" by having the opportunity to take his granddaughters to the New Zoo in Green Bay on Labor Day.
He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa, Appleton; two daughters: Megann (Andy) Hooyman, and their 3 daughters Zoey, Rylee, and Callie of Appleton and Holly Underhill, of Appleton; his mother, Lois Zachek, Appleton; a sister, Lynn (Todd) Krueger, Appleton; and a brother, Bob (Jennifer) Zachek, Appleton. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, and his best friend John Schwarzbauer.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Howard and a brother, Don.
A memorial service will take place at 6 pm on Monday, October 17, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Friends and relatives may visit at the funeral chapel on Monday from 4 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ThedaCare Physicians, hospice nurses at Cherry Meadows, and the staff at ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center for the compassionate care shown to John.

Obituary:
Donald P. Zachek , age 52, died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his home. Don was born in Appleton on September 15, 1961 to the late Howard Zachek and surviving mother, Lois (Utchig) Zachek. He graduated at Appleton East High School with the class of 1980. Don worked at Midtec for many years. He loved the great outdoors - especially hunting and fishing, and was also an avid Packer fan.

Don is survived by two sons: Eric and Chad Zachek; his mother, Lois Zachek, Appleton; two brothers: John (Theresa) Zachek, Appleton and Robert (Jennifer) Zachek, Town of Harrison; and his sister, Lynn (Todd) Krueger, Kaukauna.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Zachek.

A memorial service will take place at 7 pm on Tuesday, February 18, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel Tuesday from 5 pm until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established.
