    Louis Wilpolt, 45, 807 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, died at 4 o'clock this morning at the Veterans' hospital at Wood, WI. after a 3 month illness. Born March 22, 1896, at Hollandtown, he was a member of the Kaukauna Fire Department since March 1934, and formerly was employed as a tinsmith for the Haas Hardware Company, Kaukauna and the Chicago and Northwestern railway. He was a service officer of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and past commander of the American Legion Post no. 41, at Kaukauna. He was wounded in service, overseas, having been a sergeant in Company H, 128th Infantry, 32nd Division. He was a member of the Wisconsin Paid Fireman's association and of the International Association of Firefighters.The body will arrive in Kaukauna at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon and will be taken to Greenwood funeral home. Survivors are two daughters, Miss Lorraine Wilpolt, Chicago and Miss Evelyn Wilpolt, Kaukauna and one son, Gene, Kaukauna; four brothers: Henry, Kaukauna, Albert, Minneapolis, John, New York City, and Richard, Hudson Falls, N.Y. and one sister, Mrs. Ed Bay, Kaukauna.

    Lorraine M. Nehs passed away suddenly of cardiac arrest, in Tempe, Arizona, on December 3, 2009. She was 89 years old. Lorraine was born in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, on June 20, 1920. Her parents were Louis E. Wilpolt (deceased 5/2/41) and Gladys R. Wilpolt (deceased 3/6/46). She earned a nursing degree from Bellin College, Green Bay, Wisconsin. She then worked as a nurse in Cook County, Illinois. Lorraine enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps on 2/8/45. She served as a 1st Lieutenant in World War II and served in Saipan, in the Mariana Islands, from 6/16/45 to 3/31/46. Thereafter, she worked as a nurse for Dr. Landis and the Visiting Nurse Association in Appleton, Wisconsin. On 9/17/49 she married Franklin L. Nehs (deceased 5/7/79). They had three children: Vicki F. (deceased 12/5/71), Franklin S. and Randall L. (deceased 10/28/88). Lorraine permanently moved to Tempe, Arizona, in October 1994.
    Lorraine is survived by her brother, Gene L. Wilpolt, Arlington, Wisconsin; her son, Franklin S. Nehs, Encinitas, California; her daughter-in-law, Sherry Nehs, New York, New York; and grandson, Eric Nehs, New York, New York.

    See Image Miss Vicki Nehs, 1715 Hillcrest Dr., 20 year old daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Franklin L. Nehs passed away at 8:10 p.m. Sunday. She was born May 24, 1951 in Appleton and graduated from Appleton High School West in 1969 and presently was a sophmore at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she is also survived by two brothers; Franklin S. Nehs, University of Wisconsin and Randall at home, and her grandmother, Mrs. Clara Nehs, Neilsville, Wis. There will be no visitation. Private funeral services will be held at Wichmann Funeral Home with internment following at Highland Memorial Park. A memorial fund has been established for Appleton Public Schools.

    Age 32, formerly of Appleton, died Saturday, October 22, 1988 at the New York University Hospital in Manhattan after a six week illness. Randy was born December 29, 1955 in Appleton and graduated from Appleton High School West in 1974. He received a degree from the University of Denver and was an investment executive for Grenel & Co. of New York until the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Sherry and their ten month old son, Eric; his mother, Lorraine, Appleton; a brother, Franklin S., Del Mar, California; mother and father-in-law, Millicent and Arnold Kronenberg, New York City. He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin L. and a sister Vicki. A memorial service was held on October 24 in New York City. Internment was in New York. The Randall L. Nehs memorial fund has been established at Banc One in Appleton, to be used for research.
