    Alvin A. Hankemeier Age 90 of Dale, Wisconsin, died peacefully and unexpectedly at his home with his daughter Nancy by his side on Friday, November 28, 2014.
    Alvin was born in the Township of Greenville on October 1, 1924, the son of Otto and Frieda (Schuldt) Hankemeier. He was baptized on October 19, 1924, and confirmed on September 4, 1938, both by Pastor Leonard Kaspar at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenville. On September 29, 1956, Alvin married Emilie Michaelis at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Alvin and Emilie were married for 42 years before her death in 1999. While farming Alvin worked as a milk hauler for South Greenville Dairy and then Silverfield Cheese Factory in Fremont, retiring from the business in the summer of 1985. Through the years he also worked for Neenah Foundry, Pierce Manufacturing, and Hortonville WireWorks. He officially retired from work in 1996 at age 73. Alvin mowed lawn at the Dale Park and Immanuel Church Cemetery.
    Alvin enjoyed the simple things in life; sitting in his lawn chair watching the neighbors drive by, drinking his warm Old Milwaukee, smoking his pipe, trapping chipmunks, and taking country drives sightseeing.
    Alvin in survived by his children: Alan (special friend, Mary Jo) Hankemeier, Nancy (David) Leintz, Jack (Luann) Hankemeier, Judy (Keith) Thomas, Mark (Kim) Hankemeier, and Lynn (Brian) Bangart; ten grandchildren: Tracy Winkelman, Michael (Katy) Leintz and Timothy (Sara) Leintz, Amy Hankemeier, Adam (Ryan) Bazan, Amanda Thomas, Aaron Thomas, Sarah (Mills) Neubert, Christopher Hankemeier and Jessica Hankemeier. He is further survived by his great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Charis, and Micaiah Winkelman, Elliot Leintz, Henry Leintz, and Corey and Mason Neubert; brothers, Jerry (Mary) Hankemeier and David (Donna) Brehmer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
    Alvin is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emilie; two brothers, Ernst and Herbert; two sisters, Marie Ziegert and Ruth Meyer; brother and sister-in-laws including special sister-in-law, Wilma Hankemeier.
    The funeral service for Alvin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church (W7265 School Rd) Greenville, with Pastor John Qualmann officiating. Family and friends may visit directly at church Thursday evening from 3:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. and again Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial may directed to Immanuel Lutheran School Tuition Reimbursement Program. -

    Alvin married Michaelis, Emilie 29 Sep 1956. Emilie died Abt 1999. [Group Sheet]
