Obituary:
Mayford A. Dain, 87, of Iron Mountain, MI, passed away on December 10, 2015, at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King, WI.
He was born September 18, 1928, in Kaukauna, WI, son of the late Erwin and Anna Mae (Theisen) Dain.
Mayford grew up in Manawa, WI and attended school at Wisconsin School for the Deaf, Delavan, WI. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from 1946, until his honorable discharge in 1951.
He married Mary Ziesman in 1950; she preceded him in death. Mayford worked for Hillshire Farms in New London, WI. for 16 years. He married Maryann Peterson in July of 1989, at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Kingsford, MI.
Mayford is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Maryann; three sons, Edward Ziesman, Manawa, WI, Ronald (Julie) Dain, Manawa, WI and Michael (Joyce) Dain, Readfield, WI, two daughters, Barbara (Dennis) Hoffmann, Manawa, WI and Linda Dain, New London, WI, one brother, Jack Dain, Livingston, TN, sisters, Marie Richter, Seymour, WI, Rose Young, Bear Creek, WI, Joann (Bruce) Davids, Bowler, WI and Sister-in-law Evelyn Dain, Hoopeston, IL. He is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mary Ziesman, he was preceded in death by his sister Alice Nelson, brothers Arlyn and Francis (Frank) Dain, brother-in-laws Lyle Young and Donald Richter.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at Little Wolf Cemetery, Manawa, WI.
