    Obituary:
Riverside Terrace resident Richard A. Brill died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Beloit Memorial Hospital at age 101 and 11 months.
He was born on April 15, 1914 in Beloit, WI, the son of Henry and Laura (Perkins) Brill. Richard attended Hackett Elementary and Lincoln Junior High School, and was one of the last surviving members of the Beloit High School 1932 graduating class. Richard met and courted Irene Wikel at Beloit High, and they married October 18, 1935. She was the love of his life and he of hers. They joyfully celebrated their 74th anniversary just prior to her death in 2009.
Richard was employed by the Beloit Iron Works (later renamed Beloit Corporation), starting as an office aid, then spending several years as a price estimator in the Cost Department, and finally in the after market Sales Department. He followed his 40 years of employment with 40 years of retirement.
Richard loved playing cribbage with Irene, and he also played with all the generations of his family, from his grandfather to his great grandchildren. He was a faithful, active church member, first at the Second Congregational Church, and then at Christ United Methodist which more recently merged into the River of Life United Methodist Church.
Richard was a long time walker and bicycle rider. He loved being with his children, grandchildren, and cousins. Richard enjoyed gardening, candle making, and playing ping pong. Family vacation weeks at Lake Mills' Rock Lake were a long tradition, as were the many auto trips he and Irene took.
Richard's family and his many friends will remember him as a kind, bright, soft spoken gentlemen with a ready wit and a frequent smile. He continued his lifetime practice of being well organized and informed about the world around him. Richard continued an active written correspondence with friends and family members to his final days.
Richard is survived by his children, Wesley (Sonja) Brill and Carolyn (Larry) Hamilton all of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Michael Schnell, Debbie (Randy) Olson, Cindy (Tim) Liebau, Cherie (Tim) Christensen, and Pam (Dan) Millmann; great grandchildren, Kristin (Erik), Stephanie (Sam), Eric, Kyle, Jeffrey, Michelle, Megan, Jessica, Brian, Nathan, and Sara; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sister, Martha (Howard) Bjorklund of Madison, WI; sister-in-law, Hilda Wikel of West Allis, WI; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his beloved Irene, his parents, and his brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Dorothy Brill.
Funeral service for Richard will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Reverend David Carlson officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service Sunday in the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery, South Beloit, IL.
Memorials may be made to the River of Life Untied Methodist Church or to an organization of the donor's choice.
