    Edna I. Barkow, age 82 of New London, WI, formerly of the Township of Pella, Shawano County, WI, passed away Saturday April 25, 2009, at the St. Joseph Residence in New London.
    Edna was born on March 12, 1927, in the Town of Pella. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Meta (Koeller) Korth. Edna spent nearly all her life in the Town of Pella, where she was united in marriage to Ernest C. Barkow on November 15, 1947. Upon marriage, the couple operated a dairy farm in the Town of Pella, where they raised their family. Edna was a life-long member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pella Opening in the Town of Pella where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. Ernest preceded Edna in death on April 21, 1990. Some of Edna's favorite hobbies included coloring, flower gardening, baking, playing sheepshead and spending time with her grandchildren.
    Survivors include: three daughters: Kathy (Don) Buettner, Clintonville; Bonnie (Fiance: Duane Hess) Barkow, Omro; Tammy (David) Westphal, Hortonville; two sons: Tom (Gerri) Barkow, Tigerton; Michael Barkow, Shawano; grandchildren: Kelly (Pat) Danforth, Kory (Emily) Buettner, Carrie Wait, Ed (Jamie) Egan, Adam & Brittney Roehl, Katie & Amy Barkow, Ryan, Amanda, Andrew, & Rachel Westphal; great-grandchildren: Dylan & Kara Danforth, Alex Egan, Josie, Jared, Kassidy, & Kallie Wait, and soon-to-be twin Buettner girls; one sister: Verna Barkow, Clintonville; four sisters-in-law: Irene (Bob) Marquardt, Alma Kortbein, June Barkow, & Joyce Barkow; a brother-in-law: Arnie (Lillian) Barkow; and many other relatives.
    Edna was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Ernest, a son Jeffrey in infancy, a sister Melda Born, and a brother Silas Korth.
    Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pella Opening in the Township of Pella, Shawano County, with the Rev. Todd Jerabek officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery also in the Town of Pella.
    Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting her family. www.eberhardtstevenson.com.
    Edna's family would like to thank the staff at the St. Joseph Residence for their thoughtful and compassionate care of Edna during her stay.
