Obituary:
Roslyn M. "Rosie" Borree, age 83, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at the St. Paul Villas in Kaukauna, where she had been a resident for the past 10 months. However, St. Paul Elder Services was her home away from home for almost 4 years prior to her move there in August, 2016, as she lovingly cared for her husband Dick prior to his passing in April, 2017. Rosie and Dick were married June 10, 1954; they would have celebrated 63 years of marriage next month. Rosie was a wonderful caregiver in life - she cared for her elderly mother, she cared for her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and her friends - and for 62-plus years, was able to keep Dick on the straight and narrow! As her children grew, she worked at the former White Clover Dairy for almost 10 years and enjoyed the friendships she made there. Rosie shared her life with Dick in Kaukauna and Dundas and in their retirement years, at Waterpower Lake. She was quite competitive and would play any game of cards, as long as money was involved - especially sheepshead and cribbage. She loved to win as her grandchildren will attest to!
Rosie is survived by her children: Julia (James) George, Appleton, WI, Barbara (Michael) Vande Burgt, Brillion, WI, William Borree and special friend Josephine Daugherty, Guam, Phillippines and Karl (Lynnette) Borree, Houghton, MI; nine grandchildren: Benjamin (Angela) George, Jessica (Michael) Jacobs, Julia (Jon) Miller, John (Ashley) Vande Burgt, Joseph Vande Burgt and special friend Mikaela Johnson, Maxwell Borree, Bailey Borree, Jackson Borree and Chloe Borree. She was also a loving great-Grandma to Owen and Henry Jacobs, to Madeline, Mason and Jackson Miller, to Weston and Rowen Vande Burgt, to Fletcher Vande Burgt and to Baby George (on the way). Rosie is survived by her twin brother Richard Kamps and his wife Gretchen and by her sister-in-law, Bonnie Kamps as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her husband's family: sister-in-law Judy Borree and brother-in-law John Borree and his wife Betty.
Rosie was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister-in-law and a niece: John and Marie Kamps, Robert Kamps and Judy Kamps Blanchette. She is further preceded in death by her husband's family: Yvonne (Richard) Landwehr and Margaret Ann (Donald) Kilgas.
The family would like to acknowledge the love and support shown to our mother throughout her time at SPES; thank you to all of her wonderful friends and neighbors at the Villas. A special thank you to long time family friends Clifford and Janet VanDeLoo, Mom loved you very much.
A memorial mass will be held in Rosie's honor in the Chapel at St. Paul Elder Services, 316 E. 14th Street, on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 am. If you are unable to attend, please feel free to join the family at Van Abel's Restaurant in Hollandtown at 12:30 pm that day to share your memories of Rosie. Family requests no flowers please - any memorials should be directed to St. Paul Elder Services or to the charitable foundation of your choice.
