Carol M. (Kearn) Young, 74, of Appleton, WI, passed away June 14, 2017, at home near family.
She was born July 21, 1942, in Appleton, WI, the daughter of late Ella & William Kearn. She was the youngest of 14 siblings. On October 19, 1963 she married Gerald C. Young, who survives.
Carol enjoyed bowling in a couple's league with Jerry, playing cards, & watching her family play ball. She was a loving & caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, & friend; always thinking of others first. She had a green thumb for flowers & loved sitting on the porch with family, & neighbors.
Carol is survived by her daughter Kelly Dortman (Jonathan), Montclair, VA, daughter Jill Penglase (Michael Haydn), Appleton, WI, and son Michael Young, Chilton, WI; grandchildren, Joseph, Sabrina, Isaiah, Jack, and Diana; and great grandchild Roman.
She is survived by her brother Gordon Kearn, Hortonville, WI, sister Marion Dietrich, Appleton, WI, & brother Robert (Joan) Kearn, Kingman, AZ, SIL Edith Kearn, along with a host of in-laws, nieces & nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Young; and a host of family & close friends.
Mass intentions were recited on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Woodbridge, VA. Burial took place at S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Hortonville, WI with her immediate family and a few close friends present. It was her wish not to have a viewing or funeral. However, if anyone would like to acknowledge or pay her respects, may do so by sending cards in c/o Gerald Young, 1523 W Spring St, Appleton, WI, 54914.
