    Mrs. Kathryn Wilz, 77, who had made her home for several years with her daughter, Mrs. Anton Boehm, 609 Third-st. died at 8 o'clock Saturday morning after a several weeks illness. She was born in New York, but came to Wisconsin at an early age made her home in the town of Harrison for more than 50 years. She had been a resident of Menasha for the last 13 years. Mrs. Wilz is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Boehm and Mrs. Peter Meyer, Menasha; five sons, Henry and Peter, Appleton, William, Cresho, S.D. Charles and Louis, town of Harrison; one brother, John Sturn, town of Harrison; two sisters, Mrs. William Lemmel, town of Harrison; Mrs. Jacob Dickerman, Kimberly; and 28 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was a member of the Christian Mothers society of St. Mary church, and also a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. Funeral services probably will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. Mary church with the Rev John Hummel in charge, with interment in St. Mary cemetery.

    Obituary:
    Marie R. Green, age 89, died F riday afternoon at the Oak Ridge and Gardens Nursing Center in Menasha. S he was born February 26th, 1905, in the town of Harrison, the daught er of the late Henry and Helen (Demarath) Wilz Sr.,. In her early years s he was employed by the Little Paris Millinery and was also a switchboard o perator for Wisconsin Telephone Co., both of Appleton. She then serv ed as manager of the Union News lunchroom at Appleton Junction, Wisconsi n. From 1928 to 1932. She married John H. Greene on August 30th, 1930. Th ey made their home in Winneconne in 1937 and Marie was the assistant libra rian from 1945 until 1966 and then served as librarian of the Winneconne P ublic Library from 1966 until her retirement in 1979. Her husband preced ed her in death on February 17, 1969. She was a member of St. Mary's Cath olic Church of Winneconne. Marie was active in civic affairs and w as a 50 year member of the Winneconne Civic League Federated Women's clu b. She was a charter member and first treasurer of the Winneconne Histori cal society. She is survived by one brother ALoys Wilz of Menasha and num ber of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Mo nday January 9th at St. Mary's Catholic Church Winneconne with Reverend L ee Roy Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Winneconne cemetery.

    Clarence C. Wilz
    Age 89, died on Sunday, February 25, 2001, at Century Oaks Care Center. Clarence was born on April 20, 1911, in the Town of Harrison, son of the late Peter and Anna (Alft) Wilz. He faithfully served his country in the Air Force during World War II, in the China-Burma-India Theater.
    Clarence was an avid hunter and fisherman. For many years, Clarence restored and refinished antiques; mostly clocks.

    He is survived by his sister, Irene Kersten, Green Bay; a brother-in-law, Ben Dugas, Metairie, LA; three nephews, Louis (Sue) Captain, Oshkosh; Richard Captain, Appleton; Jack (Dianna) Kersten, De Pere; and a niece, Kay (Roger) Menting, Greenleaf, WI. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Kersten; two sisters, Cecilia Wilz Dugas and Regina Wilz Captain; a nephew, Clarence Captain; and a niece, Barbara Ann Captain Thede.

    The Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at the funeral home, with Deacon Don Wetzel officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Menasha. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. The family wishes to thank Pioneer Village, Century Oaks, the Seuberts, and especially his good friends Ken and Wendy Schreve, and all who kept in touch. Clarence's sense of humor was evident in his letter writing.

    Irene (Wilz) Kersten, 95, a longtime Green Bay resident was called Home to our Lord on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. She was born Sept. 21, 1913, to Peter and Anna (Alft) Wilz in the Town of Harrison, Calumet County. Following her graduation from high school and business college and on the advice of her teacher, Bertha Berry, Irene took a civil service exam. Under President Roosevelt's initiative, employment offices were opened throughout the country. Irene became the first full-time employee of the Appleton Employment office. On May 24, 1941, she married John J. Kersten in Appleton. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1995. Irene was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Parish and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Letter writing was her favorite pastime, which she continued until her death. Irene is survived by a son, John "Jack" (Dianna Matzke) Kersten; a daughter, Kayleen (Roger) Menting; seven grandchildren, John (Geralyn) Kersten, Steve (Kim) Kersten, Mitch (Carri) Kersten, Kim (Chris) Holzschuh, Joe Menting, Michelle (Dan) Schmidt, Melinda (Chris) Lemke; 13 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; a step-great-great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Josephine Roder; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Cecilia and Ben Dugas, Regina and Louis Captain; a brother, Clarence Wilz; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Norbert and Florence Kersten, Irvin and Coletta Kersten, Peter Kersten, George Roder. Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, corner of Ninth St. and 12th Ave., Green Bay, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Luncheon will follow. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.     Al Schnese, 85, Indianapolis, was born in Kimberly, Wis. on Jul. 26, 1926. He was a graduate of Kimberly High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and Badger Boys State.
    Al left Madison to join the U.S. Army and served as a Staff Sergeant in the 11th Airborne Division in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
    Al returned to Wis. upon completion of his service and started Frasier Lumber Company. He then created Allied Supply Company in Appleton. Al moved into a sales position with Valley School Suppliers, Appleton, and finished his career in sales with Mainline Industrial Distributors in Appleton.
    Al was a member of the First Congregational Church, UCC in Appleton, and was an active member until the end at Geist Christian Church in Indianapolis. He was a member at Buttes des Morts Country Club, Waupaca Country Club, and Riverview Country Club in Wis.
    Al was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elizabeth Schnese of Kimberly, Wis.; along with five brothers and sisters.
    He was also preceded in death by a wife, Rita Holzem Schnese; and is survived by their children, John (Nancy Bina) Schnese, Maple Grove, Minn.; Ellyn (Carl) Trinrud, Colbert, Ga.; Bill (Brenda Rassmusen) Schnese, Dublin, Ohio; Jim Schnese, Hendersonville, N.C.; and Bob (Lori Vaughan) Schnese, Chanhassen, Minn.
    He is also survived by wife, Jeri Schnese, Indianapolis, Ind.; and children Kim (Ed) Henz, Indianapolis, Ind., Robert (Sally Spence), Indianapolis, Ind., and Mike Schnese, Madison, Wis.
    He leaves behind 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    A true "Cheesehead," Al was an original season ticket-holder of the 13-time Champion Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. He was also a tremendous supporter of his beloved Wisconsin Badgers. A golf nut, Al recorded an "ace" on the 8th hole at Riverview Country Club in Appleton, Wis.
    A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at Geist Christian Church, Indianapolis, Ind., with calling for one hour prior.

    Leo O. Wilz, 80, Kaukauna, passed away at his home on Friday, October 21, 2011, with his family at his side. He was born on November 4, 1930, in Appleton, to the late Nap "Leo" and Marie (Kuehnl) Wilz.
    Leo married Joyce Mahn in 1955 and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kaukauna since that time. He proudly served his country as a truck driver in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, also serving in Germany and Japan. He later became a truck driver at Thilmany's Mill where he worked for 37 years.
    He was a long-time member of Kaukauna Electric City VFW Post 3319. He enjoyed trips to the casino with his friend, Bill. Leo loved the 4th of July, lighting fireworks with the grandkids and family. He was a friend to everyone he met and would give rides to people who couldn't drive. Leo loved animals, especially Dawson.
    Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joyce; his children, Cindy (Dave) Niesen, Kaukauna; Barbara (Tim) Siebers, Kaukauna; David (Diana) Wilz, Kimberly; and Leo (Beth) Wilz, Iowa; his grandchildren, Lindsey and Eric Niesen, Heather (John) Sexton Nabbefeld, Hollie (John) Hammen, Wesley (Ashley) Siebers and Maria Siebers, Justin Wilz, and Nick and Haakon Wilz; his great-grandchildren, Chase Niesen, Hunter, Bianca, Titus, Judah, Moses and Haddie Cakes Hammen and two more great-grandchildren on the way! He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Jim (Ellie) Wilz, Appleton; Russell Wilz, Lenoir, N.C.; Patti (Carl) Schoettler, Shiocton; Vicki (Larry) Gorges, Greenville; and Marie (Len) Chilicki, Waukesha. He is further survived by his in-laws, Don (Mary) Mahn, Kaukauna; Phyllis Bovee, Kaukauna; and Sister Rosalie, OSST, Euclid, Ohio.
    Leo was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert (Dorothy) Wilz and Tom (Ann) Wilz; his nephews, Mark Wilz, Tom Schoettler, Bart Bovee and Steve Mahn; and his niece, Debbie Mahn Stoneburner; his in-laws, Roy and Phoebe Mahn.
    Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2011, at BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 124 W. Tenth Street, Kaukauna, with the Rev. Levi Willms officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of services. Military honors will be observed at the church following the funeral. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.

    Jerome H. Schnese passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Jerome was born on April 12, 1936 in the Appleton home of his parents Howard and Irene (Urban) Schnese. He was a 1955 graduate of Appleton High School. On September 28, 1957, he married Susan McDonnell at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Menasha. As a young man "Schnez" worked days as a service station mechanic at Verrier-Schmit Sinclair. He worked nights at the Pizza Palace, starting in 1955 when Frank Pierri first opened "the joint". In 1965 Jerome went to work at Miller Electric. He spent 32 years there, retiring in 1997. From the 50's on, "Schnez" had a reputation as a speed mechanic. Doc was involved in stock car racing, starting at Apple Creek Speedway with cars driven by J.J.Smith. He progressed to late model stocks at WIR, building and maintaining cars for Al Piette and Gene Wheeler including the Camaro which Jim Sauter drove to a track championship in 1981.
    Upon his retirement from Miller Electric, "Doc" became the neighborhood fix-it man. From leaf blowers to mortar mixers, if it had an engine, "Doc" could make it purr. He was also a green thumb gardener and awesome woodworker, crafting many pieces of fine furniture.
    Jerome is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Susan; his sons, Jerry, Menasha, and Michael (Julia), Menasha; a granddaughter, Dylan; sister, Patricia Moler, of Springfield WV; niece, Tamy (Rick) De Leon, Waimanalo, HI; two nephews; Terry (Kelly) Schnese, and Tad (Judy) Schnese, both of Anchorage, AK. He is further survived by sister-in-law, Pat (Bill) Kernen, of Neenah; two brothers-in-law, Bob (Becky) Mc Donnell, Laguna Beach, CA and Jake (Camilla) McDonnell, Fullerton, CA; as well as other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; his older brother Cal; Cal's wife Rosie; and a niece, Karen.
    A celebration of Jerome's life will be held on Monday November 4, 2013 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, from 3:00 until 5:00 PM
    Jerry will be greatly missed by his many friends. He would ask that they raise a glass in memory of "Schnez" and the good times. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
    A special Thank You to Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice for the TLC they provided Jerry during his final days, especially his nurses, Phil, Kristen and Gina.

    Infant Myles Graham Siebers, of Appleton, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital on Wednesday, March 22, 2012. He will be dearly missed by his parents, Ashley and Wesley Siebers; grandparents: Monica and Greg Driessen, and Barbara and Timothy Siebers; aunts: Erika (Sean) Mantei, Allie Woychek, Faith Driessen, Heather (John) Sexton, Hollie (John) Hammen, and Maria Siebers; and many other loving family members and friends.
    The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Fargo Funeral Home, with John Hammen officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna. Condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
