Greenville - Ruby Ruth Ziegler, age 91, of Greenville, WI entered eternal life on Friday, January 5, 2018 with her family at her side. She was born September 23, 1926 in Appleton, WI, the daughter of the late Otto and Ida (Manteufel) Butt. She was baptized at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton on October 24, 1926. In 1930 her family moved to a farm in Greenville and she was confirmed at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Greenville, which remained her church to this day. Ruby graduated from Appleton West High School in 1944 and married Robert Ziegler on May 31, 1947 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church. Their marriage was blessed with one daughter, four sons and 54 wonderful years together until his death on February 11, 2002. Ruby was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church serving on the altar guild, Ladies Aide, LWMS and various committees through the years. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, playing cards and later her "Red Hat" friends; but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. After raising her family, she was employed at the H. C. Prange Company advertising office for several years and then 24 years at Aid Association for Lutherans (Thrivent) until her retirement in 1987.
Ruby is survived by her five children and spouses; daughter, Judith (Robert) Young; sons, Stephen (Mary), Gary (Nancy), James (Kelly) and Thomas (Dawn); twelve grandchildren, Brian (Torre) Ziegler, Andrew (Kristen) Ziegler, Ann (Dan) Bartelt, Laura (Damian) Maschke, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Young, William (Jami) Young, Christy Young (Justin Reiland), Jesse (Candice) Ziegler, Jennie (Adam) Griesbach, Ashley (Andrew) Lambie, Mitchell (Miranda) Ziegler and Amanda (Nikalas) Krueger and 26 great grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert in 2002; her brothers, Clarence in 1938, Lyle in 1993 and sister-in-law, Pearl Butt in 2011.
The Christian Funeral for Ruby will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenville with Pastor John Qualmann officiating. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband in the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may visit directly at church from 8:00-11:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Lawrence Hall at Brewster Village for their loving and compassionate care of Ruby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
