    Obituary:
    JOHN BUHL, widely known Charlestown farmer, died suddenly at his home near Hayton Tuesday evening at 6:30. Mr. Buhl had been in apparently good health. Tuesday evening he had done the chores around the place, as was his custom. When he had finished he returned to the house and complained to Mrs. Buhl that he was not feeling well. He declined supper and laid down instead. Mrs. Buhl went to his room a little later for find him dead.
    Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at St. Martin's church, Hayton. Burial will be in St. Martin's cemetery.
    Mr. Buhl was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Buhl. He was born in Charlestown June 13, 1861. He married Miss Theresa Applebaker. To them fifteen children were born. Four of the girls are nuns.
    Mr. Buhl was an extensive farmer and a stockman and dairyman of note. He was one of Calumet County's substantial citizens, known and respected widely for his thrift and honesty.

    Obituary:
    Frank A. Buhl, 70, R. 2, of New Holstein, died at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah. He had been visiting his son in Neenah when he became ill and was hospitalized.
    A resident of the New Holstein area for 45 years, he was born in the town of Charlestown on Oct. 14, 1893, a son of the lat Mr. and Mrs. John Buhl, and attended St. Martin Schools in the Town of Charlestown. A farmer, he married Margaret Salm Feb. 25, 1919, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and its Holy Name Society.
    Survivors are his widow; a son, Frank O. of Neenah, and six daughters, Sister Mary Lucille of St. Agnes Convent in Green Bay, Mrs. Raymond (Isabelle) Winkel of St. Anna, Mrs. Edward (Marcella) Meyer of St. Joe, Mrs. Jerome (Catherine) Janty of New Holstein, Mrs. Adrian (Delores) Peik of Wauwatosa, and Mrs. William (Viola) Van Rooy of Oneida.
    Also surviving are eight sisters, Sister Mary Nerina of Chicago, Sister Mary Balthassar of Milwaukee, Sister Mary Geraldine of Lanham, Md., Sister Mary Cyrian of Racine, Mrs. Oscar (Frances) Herzog of St. Anna, Mrs. Gottfried (Clara) Mayer of St. Nazianz, Mrs. Francis Martin of Berkeley, Calif., Mrs. Clarence Klies of Milwaukee; four brothers, John of Chilton, Anton of Charlestown, Martin and Hubert of Visalia, Calif., 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

    Frank married Salm, Margaret 25 Feb 1919. Margaret (daughter of Salm, John A. and Juckem, Katherine) was born 30 Apr 1892, Cleveland, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, USA; died 5 Mar 1975, Manitowoc, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, USA. [Group Sheet]

    Viola M. (Buhl) Van Rooy, 89, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013.

    She is survived by her 5 children: Theresa (Ron) Raddatz; Margaret (Craig) Hively; Joan (Jerry) Paalman; Lee (Barb) Van Rooy; Mike (Donna) Van Rooy; daughter-in-law, Mary Van Rooy; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. Also her 3 sisters, Sally Meyer; Delores Peik; Sr. Lucille Buhl; one brother, Frank (Irene) Buhl.
    Vi is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill; son, Tom; 1 granddaughter; 2 sisters, 8 brothers-in-law, 4 sisters-in-law.
    Family and friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Dr., De Pere, on Monday, December 2, 2013 from 3pm to 5:30pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Vi at 6pm at the church with Fr. Tim Shillcox, O.Praem officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
