Louise M. Prasher, age 102, a resident of Pine Haven Christian Home passed away quietly while listening to her daughter-in-law's piano music, Tuesday morning, July 24, 2007.
Louise was born March 8, 1905 in Edgar, Wisconsin to Fred and Margaret (Salchert) Lutz. In 1909 the family moved to Kewaunee, Wisconsin and in 1918, to Appleton, WI.
In 1927 Louise graduated from Lawrence College, in Appleton with honors earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She began her teaching career in Algoma, Wisconsin.
In 1930 Louise was united in marriage to Bernard Prasher in Waukegan, Illinois. The couple resided in New London, WI before moving to Sheboygan Falls in 1938. Her husband, Bernard, the love of her life, preceded her in death in 1979.
From 1943 – 1970 she taught Latin and other languages at Sheboygan Falls High School. Her students still comment to her family, with warmth, the inspiration Louise provided to them. Her gracious, dignified manner and intellectual ability continues as a legacy to hundreds of her former students and other special people whose lives she touched.
Louise was a wonderful homemaker, canning all sorts of products from their garden, baking pies, cakes and pastries, sewing clothing and costumes for her children and helping with Girl Scouts and other projects when she was needed. After retirement, she lovingly made hand-sewn quilts for all her children and grandchildren. She would also knit about 20 pairs of mittens each year for the Salvation Army.
Survivors include her four children, Gretchen Tinkle of Los Alamos, NM and Belleville, IL, Bernard and Mary Prasher of Bloomington, MN, Lisa Citarelli of Collevecchio, Italy and Christine Novak of LaGrange Park, IL; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and her loving sister, Fredricka Casey of Appleton, WI.
In addition to her husband, Louise was preceded in death by three brothers and three sons-in-law.

Louise married Prasher, Bernard 9 Jun 1930. Bernard (son of Prasher, Charles and Heiss, Kunigunde "Carrie") was born 4 Nov 1898, Appleton, Outagamie, Wisconsin, USA; died 8 Oct 1979. [Group Sheet]
