Blatseas, Penelope Marie "Penny" Gostas
Penelope Marie "Penny" Blatseas, of Appleton, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 21, 2004. Penny was born November 4, 1943 in Appleton, the daughter of Michael Gostas and the late Florence (Sutherlun) Gostas-Massey. She resided all of her life in Appleton and was a 1962 graduate of Appleton High School. Penny was formerly employed by I. Bahcall Co and currently at Quaker Bakery. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, a great cook (with her special Greek recipes), who loved family get-togethers.
Penny was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church of Appleton.
She will be deeply missed by her three children: Alexandra Blatseas of Milwaukee, Spyro Blatseas of Dublin, Ohio, and Gerasimos "Mike" Blatseas of Appleton; her father, Michael Gostas of Zakynthos, Greece; two brothers: Michael (Barb) Gostas of Appleton and Dennis (Dianne) Gostas of Neenah; two half brothers, Nicko and Tony Gostas of Greece; other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to her mother, Penny was preceded in death by a sister Dete Gostas and a brother Nick Gostas.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 28th at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 3333 N. French Rd., Appleton, with Fr. Frederick Janecek officiating. Penny will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. Friends may call directly at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
"You're in the arms of the angels, may you find some comfort there." We love you and will miss you Mom... Alex, Spyro, and Gerasimos.
