Obituary:
Appleton - Diane Irene Lietz, age 64, of Appleton, went to her Lord Jesus, surrounded by her family after a brief battle with cancer, on Friday, May 11, 2018. She was born to the late Curtis and Janet (Arnold) Lietz on October 20, 1953. She was a graduate of Fox Valley Lutheran High School and attended UW Oshkosh to obtain her Masters of Education degree.
Diane enjoyed teaching, baking, hosting celebrations, and loved doing for others. She had one of the most generous souls, and her small stature of 4'9" didn't reflect the gigantic heart she had. Diane was everybody's buddy.
Diane is survived by her brother Jeff (Mary) Lietz and her sister Laura (Clyde) Tucker; brother-in-law William Dietzen; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Joyce Dietzen
Funeral Services for Diane will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 with Deacon Maury Reed officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Brettschneider Trettin Nickel Funeral Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again the following day 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Schultz, Dr. Rami Kaldas, and the staff of ThedaCare and ThedaCare hospice.
